Was genuinely surprised by the standard of his footy this year.

This decision together with the clear loss of form makes the decision not to take Bowman as a free hit in the middle of the year even more confounding but then that's "really good footy".

On balance I'd still trust McNiece to do jobs, though with the quality of our 3 incumbents the time is right to develop the next guy for the future.

I just think McNiece needs to get a run at it. He's actually a beautiful kick of the ball. When even that falls apart, under no pressure, he's stuck in his own head.

Without expecting it to happen it would not surprise me to see him on an AFL list next year.

I will respectfully disagree with you here, he continually missed targets and rather than taking the easy option would try and find a needle in a haystack kick.
Kicking was supposed to be his strength maybe in the VFL ?, never saw it translate at AFL level.
How he got games ahead of Ridley still baffles me...Goodbye and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

And you knock Guelfi?

Good luck to Ben thanks for his service. No surprise though.

I thought it was worth a go taking him as a cat b rookie but it never worked out. Wasn't quite AFL level. All the best to McNiece.

Good on him. Gave it a crack.
Yoda, Can you tell me when and where did the info regarding Ben McNiece hanging up the boots after the VFL finals and becoming a fireman come from? I mentioned this on facebook and am basically being accused of lying/spreading rumours.
