I sense you write Vlastuin will never leave Richmond btw as if it is a good thing?
that is a cultural flaw if true.
We are here to win premierships now and into the future in a performance driven industry with market dynamics, not provide sofa's for players.
Vlastuin leaving in the right circumstances should be encouraged and commended. For example Rioli and Bolton leaving I think was best for everybody even though RFC has to go through a little blip, and that is no slight on those players as people or players or anybody else.
It does not pay to be stagnant. You are born, you live and you die, those are facts, moving around and living is a part of life which should be embraced. If Vlastuin could win premierships elsewhere hats off to him, I cannot see why he would not be welcomed regardless and he is a life member and one club players is a dinosaur philosophy. Like I have a lot of respect for Lids taking a chance but look it does not work out all the time. Nothing against Richo but Richo being a one club player is more a reflection of past times and the trouble Richmond was in in recent times. At the same time it is not ideal players go from one club to the next year after year either, their should be a balance and horses for courses approach I think to help everybody help what they want.
Like I cannot begrudge Kennedy leaving CFC and having a better opportunity at the Bulldogs even though the it is a different scenario and dynamic in terms of relationships but he has a better fit, is playing better footy helping his career and life in other ways and he has a better chance of a premiership. have to make hay while the sun shines. I do not care as a RFC supporter but look at Marc Murphy wasting his time at CFC while playing?

Seems to be alot of low life acts going on now Yze is in charge ie debuting players as subs ,playing players our of position so they fail,and now stopping a player trigger a contract extension.
I'd suggest yze plays hopper and Tarranto in the vfl till they quit that would be another good one.

Taranto and Hopper I agree along with Prestia they are killing our midfield

Blight doesn't have the athleticism of Young and that shows. I'd keep him around for another year, as in the first few rounds he looked way better at AFL level than recently. I put this down to confidence.
Should have been playing tonight instead of Kosi.

He is a solid player but his kicking and decision making to be an elite player won’t get there.
Young showed last night that he is above Blight.
Miller, Balta, Gibcus and Young are all past him
If we don't think he'll get games as a back, why not play him forward?
His strengths (marking, endurance, presence, ball reading) are greater there and his weaknesses (speed/agility, disposal) lesser.
His game and a half forward off no preparation are still better than any of the other key forwards we've got available at the moment. Get him to present up and down the line and haul in a few contested marks.
It's not like we have anything to lose if he's on track to be delisted otherwise.

You dont have 40+ elite players in a team and the GF winning teams were never great kickers and we still have a dozen worse kicks on the list.
Blight has played 10-12 games of AFL football and already has shown he has elite traits and is multi positional
He should have played last night instead of Kosi and could have been a chop out for Nank and a better option foward
Young was great last nigh specially coming back from the knee but have a look at the Tyler Young thread and you will see just as many complaints about his issue's and a very good chance we will again going foward
neither of these guys are elite and most likely wont be but they are depth players 30-43

Must play ones this week and ffs's re-sign him before WCE poach him for free. Kozi, Samson are busts, Fawcett showed nothing in his 2nd year so we need to retain all the AFL quality kp players we can.
Play him in Kosi's spot, he couldn't do any worse. Did quite well as the 2nd ruck/KPF early in the season.

Maybe we should let him hit his contract trigger then
wonder if players can opt out of a trigger taking effect? they're only there to benefit the player really but imagine if he wanted to walk eoy but we forced him to hit his trigger.
