You have to consider how far a 4YO could actually travel on foot since the time he was last seen. Then consider the physical limitations imposed by the terrain. If he wandered and got lost how far could he go before becoming exhausted, seeking shelter or water? He's unlikely to voluntarily enter a dam or body of water. I believe he was relatively familiar with the property so would probably be attracted to, or be searching for a familiar landmark. It makes no sense to head AWAY from buildings, roads, or fences. He would most likely follow a road, trail, fenceline or creek or seek shelter. This location is generally quite flat and sparse - mostly open area, with very few places he could hide or be hidden within the small radius he MIGHT have wandered. IMO he SHOULD have been located by now if he is actually there still.
