I just cant see that we would have any outback animals strong enough to take him, possibly a pack of Dingo's? but there would be evidence.

Agree he's too big and that property is protected within the ring of the dingo proof fence.

If there were any wild dogs on that property, the trackers/searchers or anybody familiar with the terrain would have noticed the signs in scat, digging, tracks etc.

I thought they found cat and fox prints.

Has anyone heard if his Mum was on the property at the time? His Mum seems to have a real low profile in this with the grandma first checking on him and then calling the police?

I have heard from a usually reliable source (definitely not social media) that Gus was in the sole custody of his grandparents. His mother was not allowed to see him, yet was at the property when he disappeared. I'm happy to be proven wrong.

I never cosidered foxes, I was referring to Zedx post on wild dogs meaning dingos or packs of domesticated dogs. It seems even less likely foxes might be involved.

So it would be another case of a complicated family situation where the missing 4yo isn't in the care of biological parents, not exactly the same as William but there are some smiliarities.

I believe so. Kinship foster care isn't uncommon, but it carries with it risks of breaching agreements because authorities can't monitor family entanglements. Very similar to William's case, but a lot more players in the game. IMO

Soooo, the mum doesn't live on the property? :confusedv1:
Do the grandparents have sole custody of both children?
Might the mum have Gus?
Where is the 1 year old?

What if it was red foxes?
It might be unlikely in this case but they can carry lambs.

Some similarities, and some differences.
In the case of Gus,
  • there has been no public appeal from 'family' (or family friends as in the case of WT)
  • public are being discouraged from looking for Gus (with WT they were all over the place)
  • no statement from police as to their working theory or theories
  • we haven't yet heard the full narrative from the last person to see Gus (whereas in the case of WT, an elaborate and detailed narrative evolved)

In both cases, there is speculation mixed in with fact, so it's difficult to distinguish which is which.
We don't know for sure who was (allegedly) on the property when Gus disappeared. We don't know the exact custody arrangements and whereabouts of bio parents. We don't know how police have determined Gus is not on the property.

In the case of WT, the police (and others) delivered half-truths and semi-truths and some outright lies which led to speculation and criticism down the track. It also led to media concocting wildly speculative and possibly misleading narratives. It's possible that if the full truth was revealed earlier, William may have been found.

In this case, police have said very little (IMO to avoid such media speculation). It remains to be seen whether this is a smart strategy or not.

So no mum , dad 300km away and thinks the station is too dangerous and gus left on said station with both his grandma’s ?

How many had independent alibi's - no skin the game? Such muddy waters ahead I fear.

A lot of the alibis for that afternoon would be similiar you'd think - watching the AFL grand final and the aftermath.

Game finished just after 5pm Vic time, so just after 4:30 SA time. The presentations etc. ran up to the 6pm news, so 5:30 in SA.

I'd think they need to be examining every working vehicle on the property as well as those who came and went over the entire day.

Police believe Gus was living at the remote homestead with his mother Jess, his one-year-old brother Ronnie and his grandparents.

Potential for a worker to have accidentally hit Gus in the car , grabbed him and left??? Body disposed elsewhere. Big area to hide a body.

This might have been answered but they had police divers in very early. You can find pictures of them doing line searches in shallower dams too.
According to the SA geodata website, there is an old mine area called "Wheal Motley located on the northern spur of the Pualco Range about 6.5km from Oak Park homestead. Workings comprise an alignment of shallow excavations. trenches, and shafts". I guess that was comprehensively searched?

Yes the police specialists might be able to get some helpful dashboard data analytics from the vehicles of everyone connected to the property, if the vehicles were modern enough. Information such as terrain the vehicles drove over, location and gps data, fuel usage, and connectivity.

There doesn't seem to be an excuse for this. People can be horrible.

Fake images of Gus Lamont, who went missing in remote South Australia last month, have been used to spread misinformation about his fate online.
An image appearing to show Gus, 4, being bundled into a car by an “unfamiliar man” has been shared thousands of times on social media.
“An eyewitness reports seeing a boy matching Gus Lamont’s description with an unfamiliar man in a car about 100km from Yunta,” the caption of one post, shared 24,000 times, reads.
The problem is, the picture was generated by artificial intelligence (AI).

Damn the world is really going to hell.

Just watched the first half-hour of Ch9 news Adelaide for the first time in a gazillion years no mention or update on this case whatsoever. Has the coverage of this case seemed lacking or am I imagining it?
It’s definitely gone very quiet since they scaled it back. I’d be interested to know if anyone is still actively searching the property for him.
