Watching this now. Some sketchy notes:

Leigh Adams - no major tactical tweaks in midfield. Improvement in our craft
Leigh - been able to defend ground better since Round 5 or 6. Need to improve connection with mids and forwards. Need to get more inside 50s.
Leigh - defensive pressure. Ability to pressure around context, in close. Pretty good forward of the footy. Letting us down lately, failed tackles. Issue of turning the ball over
Nick - future leaders - arch - does what he says he'll do, Charlie - influential and well liked - Tommy Powell - sees game really well, being more vocal, put his head down last two preseasons
Nick - pasta - fave pre-game meal. Heavy carbs
Leigh - finest moment - won premiership as coach in 2017 with South Croydon
Nick - funniest teammate - Griff, Paulie good for pranks, Eddie good to laugh at, cracks some jokes. Coach - Michael Barlow
If not footy - Leigh - qualified plumber, unclogging toilets. Nick - not sure, will travel a bit first
From Luke - likes McKerchers role as distributor. What about Harry's role? McKercher as midfielder in longer term. Sheze can play anywhere. Not huge body but great craft. Mix of centre and forward
From Daniel - Leigh - what does playing group feel that we need to improve close losses into wins - million dollar question. Group feels that we've improved a lot. No silver bullet, but belief needs to improve.
(Nick not looking too interested as Leigh speaks)
From Travis - impact of new mature recruits - huge benefit to team. Bring wealth of knowledge to team. Not just extending their careers. Impact huge in each line. Someone to turn to, another experienced level head. Good smart heads, good people, added lots to culture
Nick - prep for Saturday night - good run today, feels a lot better. Have learnt a lot from sitting back and watching the game. Different perspective. If not this week, definitely next week.

Just to expand on the above Patch was saying they ultimately want to get both McKercher and Sheezel working midfield to forward of centre so they can impact the scoreboard. He seemed particularly adamant that Colby will become a FT midfielder.

Amazing how they stay on script. Phillips would be the #1 candidate of the younger players with leadership potential but you sense Nick was never going to mention him.

That needs to start soon given his pace and run and carry.

Also FOS needs to move in there - that may take a bit longer (say mid next year) but his poise is exactly what we need in there.

A starting centre square of Xerri, LDU, FOS, Colby provides a completely different dynamic to what we have now. Sure, centre clearances haven't been our worse feature but this 4 looks (potentially) a lot better.

Wardlaw as one of the rotations?

Club is delusional.
Definitely some sort of shared delusion going on.

They’ve convinced themselves they’re on the right track despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Go and listen to hoyney from champion data.

Defensively 18,17,18,18,18,18 that’s how we are rated and nothing has changed

You certainly don’t need Champion Data to tell you that defensively we are a train wreck.

The entire set up is a complete shit show.

Bang yes …heard that…..we’re the worst defensive side for the last 6 years……absolute indictment on the club….
That stat was something of a wowzers …needs attention.
Also throw in the assessment of Harry and his remark of looking for cheap kicks…..one could argue the same for Nick D….….but it was an interesting side note about Harry’s game output so far this year.
But geez our centre group could be like the dons as he stated they have only managed to kick a total of 15 points last week…..the worst on record for their club…that is a small silver lining l will take

but yes agree tales that was some harsh but relevant information about our defensive set up….non existent and in desperation need of attention….

Don’t give a **** how far these campaigners think they’ve come - you can hang your hat on being the shittest side in the comp defensively for 6 years.

****ing joke

Agree tales…..the data says we’ve made no inroads over the last six years in this area….zip….and hoyney was fairly blunt in his assessment that we have bugger all in building an game plan fwd from this zone…
This should be the area of working on ….yet l can’t see it changing even with that reality check that was warranted …but will most likely fall on deaf ears.

Club ran an interview on Zoom with Larkey and Adams for the benefit of those members who had hit 5 year tenure. You could submit questions.

Like... ONLY for members who hit 5 years this year? Because... I've been a member for well over 5 years and didn't hear about it.

Should we be looking to get Hoyney ir someone else from Champion Data on the staff? Are we missing a trick here?
Not a big fan of SEN due to Gerard and Cornes but I do like listening to Hoyney, ever other week he’ll point out something damming about North, he’s not a dick about it just very matter of fact. The stat tonight which tales129 posted was so depressing, ranked 18th, 17th, 18th, 18th, 18th & 18th defensively across the last six years. It’s diabolical. NOTHING HAS CHANGED in six years. NOTHING.

The thing is every AFL team gets the same stuff from Champion Data so we’d be well aware of these stats and still NOTHING HAS CHANGED. It’s not like the Premier League where teams use their own IP, which gives clubs like Brighton and Brentford an advantage and allows them to punch above their weight, we have access to the data and we’re either ignoring it, not doing anything to address it or our players are so incompetent they can’t execute what they’re being told because, dare I say it again, NOTHING HAS CHANGED in six years.

The one thing Hoyney has said repeatedly this year is speed of ball movement wins you games, I can’t remember our exact position it’s either last or second last. Which is another thing that we’d be well aware of but again are either doing nothing about or too incompetent to execute.

Suffice to say there’s not much point getting Hoyney or someone in from Champion Data unless we’re going to act on the information they provide us.
