I don't like jumping in on opposition threads like this but go watch the replay, neither times was Boyd or his jumper held.
Both times was using his forearms as bumper bars, which is legal. Boyd did okay but both his goals came from soft frees.

We are fortunate Carlton are missing Kreuzer, Murphy and Docherty. A full strength Blues would beat us. They still might.

Either way Carlton seemed to get some confidence back this week. They were there for the taking the last 3 weeks but they seemed to have generated some momentum this week vs WCE.

The way we are playing ATM we are no certainty against anyone at home or away.

Inexperience in key lines. People are raving about hawthorns inexperienced back line, look at ours: naughton, Richards, Williams.
The only part of the ground I have an issue with is our midfield. They are underperforming and its killing us from the get go..

It's clear the recruiter have continued to neglect certain areas of concern.

Everyone except the players it’s clear our environment is a mess and Barrett was close to the mark.

Management and coaching have been a mess since October 2016.

Go Gordon, Grant and Bev have to be the main issues.

TBH I think list management including recruitment is probably the biggest issue.

It's why we are so young, and why we have so many below average skilled players.

Now we are down in midfielders ffs. Not enough quality. We have too many talls on the list

But Bev and Dalrymple are geniuses how is that possible?

We played one good game this year and that was to stick it up Jake. Essendon player awful and we played well and still just won.

I’m baffled how any team can win a flag and then in such a short time with such a young list become a basket case.

I’m also baffled how people who say this are called non fans and such!!!!

We are who we are because the club and “fans” accept who we are. I will alway remember seeing a hawk fan on tv say “we have had to wait 8 years to see another chance at a flag” 8 YEARS!!! Lol

Happened to Hawthorn in 2009, mini rebuild required due to retirements.
We lost Morris, Libba,Picken and Adams very early and they have been dropping like flies ever since. Our hand was forced.

Would be worried if we had Morris,Libba,Picken,Adams all playing and we where in this situation with only one win.If we had all the players mentioned playing I'd think we would have won against the Swans, but not to Fro or GWS,and won against West Coast. Injuries have killed us so far.

I never said there weren’t issues, of course there are. With the age of the list, we likely won’t be any good for another 3+years especially if we rely on getting talent through the draft rather than poaching.

I thought the same thing at first from the initial live broadcast angle, it looked like Mundy just walked past him a foot away, and was annoyed at Lipinski for what looked like a soft attempt at a tackle
But when they showed the replay, from behind the goal, Mundy was almost a meter wide from Lipinski, hence the arm reach grab attempt, Lipinski wasn't close enough to initiate a full body contact tackle, I changed my opinion after that

All of this is true, but in the end ask yourself if Picko or Moz or Boyd or Cordy make that tackle. And if not, it's not an arm flapping in the breeze, it's face first in the dirt after they've flung themselves at Mundy body and soul and come up short.

In not writing the kid off, but Webb showed those types of efforts early in his career and he's never really gone past it.

This might be a bit simplistic for some, but going back to our 2016 grand final team (unchanged from the prelim) and making a list of those not playing against the Dockers gave me a clearer picture of why we're in the doghouse at the moment.

Worth noting that at boundary throw ins, Sandilands would hit the ball towards the boundary. This was, I think, a measure designed to crowd us. It worked as we found it hard to get out, fell for the trap of going all in and did not defend the player(s) on the outside.

Our real failure on the night stemmed from our inability to handle the ball cleanly, particularly in close.

Our second failure was a lack of agility and balance. We were plodding in the ground, not running on top of it. We fell over, missed tackles and seemed poor below the knees, with slow reaction times to boot.

It appears that, unless we bring manic pressure to the ball carrier and work extra hard off the ball, our game plan collapses. Sides know that if they can close up the play and suffocate us, they will have the players to outspread us.

We appear to have too many players who are one paced and unable to wrest control back. Libba is missed.

Just after half time, I think, at the bounce down, we got the ball our way a little, scrubbed along the ground with intent but not clean possession, and there, standing between half forward and centre was one of their players...by themselves. To hand over control like this suggests we were either not concentrating, were zoning off before we even have control of the ball, or were letting them have a spare defender there.....

Allowing the opposition to have clean possession is killing us. The question is, can we not bring the game style necessary to prevent this, or are we simply not good enough?

What an absolute croc Mattdougie. What everyone donates to the club via membership, sponsorship, donations etc. and when they became a fan/member is up to them. Because someone has more ability to donate to the Bulldogs has nothing at all to do with the passion. We need the ones on the threshold rather than the sworn red white and blue. We all have different family requirements and the one thing I love is that we all love the club no matter what background you are.

The AFL is extremely competitive, my feeling is that between 5th and 14th is all up to weather, injuries, number of true home games and just sheer luck. As your points on income and members, yes it was always going to reduce over time if we became non-competitive.

Whilst the game on the weekend was ordinary, and we all feel disappointed and should be open about what is wrong, let's relax a little. Poking "More wonga than you" at any Doggies fan is really ordinary to say the least.

Game was at the G. Carlton prefer it to Etihad. WC historically have struggled there.

We had a strong team on the park earlier last year and we still struggled to beat norf and Brisbane.

Unfortunately I've come to the realisation that we simply arnt good enough
