IF you see 5 cents on the footpath do you pick it up?

I dont think it's worth the effort, unless there's hundreds of 5 cent pieces on the footpath.

I remeber being at McDonalds in Swanston St about 5 years ago, I was eating my McCrap and I noticed the guy at the table across from me eyeing my change sitting on the edge of the table. It was 5 cents.

Halfway through his meal he asked me, "Is that yours?"

I said it wasn't just to see what he'd do. He reached over and snatched the 5c piece without even a 2nd look back at me.

Now this guy didnt look hard up at all. He was working on a laptop and looked to be a student. He wes well dressed in a japanese studious sort of way. I got the impression he had money.

He's the type to pick up 5c, Im not. But odds are he will be fairly wealthy later in life.

Odds are I will get lucky and also be fairly lucky in life :D

So I put it to you, if you saw 5c on the footpath would you pick it up?

If you have a fixation to pick up $0.05 off the ground, you have a problem - end of story.

I reckon it'd be more impulse. Maybe some have that moment of trepidition thinking someone may be watching before they pick it up. But looking for chips on the casino floor would be more a fixation. Or desperation.

It's only fun once they know they're been set up. So you gotta have good veiwing position.

No, I wouldn't pick up 5c. Gold only. And probably only if I'm not in public

I dont even pick up 5c in the home. 10c yes.

I wouldn't, but I have a friend who collects 5 cent pieces.

I found $2 on the floor of a pizza shop the other day. I acted all stealthily to pick it up, eyeing off the other customers hoping they didn't see it before I got to make my move, then walking over to the counter to have another look at the menu, then dragging the $2 coin under my foot back to the seat, scratching my ankle... turned out it was my $2, since I always forget to zip up my purse. :(
