I just wish this would wait for trade period.

I should be excited for the grand final. Instead I couldn't give any less of a shit about the season and I'm struggling to have much hope going forward

Thank **** NFL is on.

We all know what’s going to happen but I’d like to see the club say something along the lines of “you’re under contract, talk to us in 12 months”. No chance Joe would be reimbursing the club for the last 2 years, why should the club wear all the risk of a long contract?

We shouldn’t even be in this position.

Position that we haven’t extended a guy who hasn’t been able to get on the field in two years and has one year remaining on contract?

It’s his manager. All of you will say we should’ve listened to Barry...all of you.

Just look at it though. Past big name players who end up leaving it’s all kept hush until the guy advises his club and media is informed. Or you hear of rival clubs offer on table.

Here we have a very well publicised visit to Sydney to meet the Swans. It’s very easy especially in Sydney for an AFL player to meet discretely. Manager leaks to McClure. Now we have Daniher ‘talking to friends and family’.

To me it’s he wants to stay but wants an extension. Will possibly accept another offer if a club offers years. I mean we haven’t even heard of a Swans offer yet.

Will be gutted if JD leaves, watching him has been one of the few bright spots for this club in recent times.

I've said it before, but the AFL really needs to sort its player trading out. None of this year-long speculation and secret meetings with other clubs etc. I've no issues with players wanting out (or clubs wanting to move players out), but do it professionally. If JD wants to leave, he and his manager can let the club know that he'd like to be traded, and if a trade can't be arranged he'll be looking to leave once out of contract. If Sydney are interested in trading for JD they let the club know and start some negotiations. If Essendon are interested in trading JD they let clubs know. That's it. None of this 'catching up for coffee' crap, the only people who can talk contracts/extensions/trades with a player are the club he's currently at, anything is 'tampering' and comes with fines/draft penalties.

And yes I understand that in an industry as incestuous as AFL there are people wearing multiple hats which makes this difficult, but you know what? Too ****ing bad. There's enough $$ in the sport now that all parties can start acting professionally, and if that means you either have to ditch a hat in order to talk to a friend, or just make some small sacrifices for the sake of being professional, so be it.

Expanding my vocabulary makes my visits to bf worthwhile

He’s treating the girl that would do him right badly and she’s going to leave for her own good

Llordo said on Footy Classified maybe a month ago that there was an extension on the table for Joe, or an offer coming very shortly. The fact that he hasn't committed says a bit more than than what you're alluding to, tbh.

Not sure Llordo was on the ball.
