Starting to think that they're definitely going to unleash the big fella on Saturday afternoon.

Would make a lot of sense... They're already letting kids in for free, and this would really boost the crowd numbers on what would otherwise be a very boring affair.

No worries. There was no word of him having an injury, hence why there was an assumption he may have been rested with a view to playing against GWS.

Also, stealthy username change ftw. ;)

That makes the discussion easier to follow. 'Cause I didn't recall him being an emergency for Anzac.

Cheers;)

Going to fight the crowd with this next comment, please don't red card me but...

I hope we don't see him this year*...(pauses for incoming fruit and sharp objects)

He'll be better for the wait, can put on more size.
Also Gumby is doing awesome, lets not **** around with that form.

*Unless it's because Hurley is being moved in to the back line (yep, that old chestnut)

Can definately see where you're coming from and I think that it isn't a bad suggestion but I believe Hird will want to give him a taste so he knows what to work towards and what it takes.

I'd be surprised if he ends up playing more than a handful. They're not rushing him, that much we know.

I think the reality may be that he is too good to drop once he plays AFL though. He'd probably be playing at almost any other club.

But JD is a mature kid, and seems to be professional and knows that he'll get his chance.

Hopefully we play him against the weaker/younger sides or when injury occurs and hes next in line. Thus this week is perfect for him, why stall his ability. Transfer him to AFL level if hes ready, dont just wait for the sake of waiting. You can only protect players for so long hes now had 2 AFL preseasons and some very strong VFL form. History shows that the best players are the ones that play early. Collingwood have been one club that have fast tracked the development of many of their players and to great effect.

If 2 of Hille/TBC/Ryder arent playing he plays

If 2 of Crameri, Hurley, Gumby he plays

That could potentially be the case this week
