AFL Player # 6: Jye Caldwell

2018 to 2021 ruined by hamstring injuries.

It's a huge problem. Look at what it did to Hooker's mobility and i don't think his issue was as prolonged.

Don't want him in a team if his loses that break away speed.

McCartney can sing and dance about it all he likes, this is why he wasn't worth a first round pick 🤷‍♀️

Weird negotiation, that one.

Dodoro: We want Caldwell

McCartney: First round pick we rate him and we want to keep him.

Dodoro: he's always injured and might struggle to realise his potential. 2nd round pick.

McCartney: WTF do you want him for then?

Put him in cotton wool, get him right and get bio mechanics experts to review and tweak his running action, then let him hit the preseason and see what happens.

3 more years on his contract, there's no rush so just do everything we can to give him a clear run at 2022.

Hire whoever it was that remodelled Hooker's running technique and saved his body/career.

Tightness or more of a low grade tear than his initial one or has he completely cooked it again ?
Well it's SEN so we don't know details. But they said 're-injured', so that sounds like more than a bruise/tightness/cramping.

Cross fingers it's not torn off the bone or something.

Probably time to abandon the season and look long term with options for a proper fix
No need to rush him back! Sure, it'd be nice to have in amongst the midfield mix + to see him develop/gain more experience but our mid group is holding up well without Shiel & Caldwell right now. Not having Stringer for a few weeks will test the grunt though! But, just take a long term approach with him, I agree.

That's really unfortunate for the young kid. He looks like a great player too. But as others have said; so many injuries early on doesn't bode well for a fruitful AFL career.
