i'd like him to play 70% forward, 30% mid and Cunners the opposite.
Honestly think 30% midfield time is too much

Should have traded him when I first said.
He needs to sit down with Archer and reinvent himself as a defender.Yes think you’re right.
Pretty much only depth if we have our best team on the park.
Midfield he just blazes away and can’t defend at stoppages. With cunners and froggy already there we can’t have another slow player in there.
Up forward he’s an unreliable kick for goal and doesn’t really impact many games when needed. And again he won’t stop many rebounds out of there.
In saying that I do love the way he plays but this game stops for no man.

Although I partly agree, I think his problem is more the speed of the game and it would ease somewhat, if he’s watching the ball come in and reacting to play, rather then trying to create it.Is he smart enough for that?
Seems like see ball , get ball type of player.
Agreed with you until I read the part about AA forward... To make that 6, you have to win the Coleman, or be Eddie Betts type spectacular. Ben Brown can't even make the team!He just doesn't have the composure for a permanent backline stint. Love the bloke, but reverts to his first instinct (belt the s**t out of the ball just like Lmac) far too often when under pressure, plus he isn't a strong enough runner in case we get intercepted further up the ground. Forward is perfect for him, errors don't cost as much, marks and frees generated will generally result in shots on goal so he has more time to calm down and assess, and there aren't too many player's that would be great match ups against him if we're going in with Larkey and Brown due to how powerful in the air he is.
Fit and healthy he easily has the potential to be an AA forward still.
LOL - JZ an AA forward.....that's a ripper! He just doesn't have the composure for a permanent backline stint. 'Fit and healthy' he is best 22 for us - nothing more nothing less.
However as we saw last week (and this applies to any player approaching 30) anything less than 'fit and healthy' they need to be carried and we just can't afford that.
, didn't see this before i posted
So, you're Arthur Cloke?Worked out in the end but playing underdone players like JZ is drought with danger and doesn’t help the player in question.
Not too dissimilar to what many Australians have experienced.
Hope he gets his knee healthy and comes back in June a man on a mission.
In the same way Jordan Hendersonimpactsinfluences the Liverpool football club, Jack seems to be viewed the same way.
It wasn't at all long ago that if he converted a bit straighter he would have been in contention. There's zero reason he can't fix his goal kicking, and if he's in good health and the team is working well, he absolutely is still a chance. Yeah, yeah, it's a lot of 'ifs', but that's just life when you're trying to predict the future, point is that he has the raw ingredients. He's shown the ability to convert well, to contest in the air above his height, to be a menace when the ball is on the deck, and to put in some miraculous efforts. Based on what he's shown in the past, and how low the quality of football for the team as a whole has been, he has the potential to make it.
^this
He is a forward imo
if (and that’s a big “if”) he can fix his goal kicking he is a great option. Good hands, applies pressure and works well with brown and Larkey.
He needs to take that role at the scruff off the neck and make it his
When he doesn’t blaze away and takes his time on his kicks he is actually accurate. He is like a crash and burn type of player like Dangerfield. And Danger butchers the ball a lot because he is constantly kicking under pressure
