Putting my ChairmanZia thinking cap on for a second after a friend made an observation about that comment ‘it felt like I didn’t need to carry the load this time’. Should we be panicking?
Nope. You're reading way too much into things I think.

As good as he is, he is already at this peak and wont be at his best when we get to a final.

So for the club, him leaving next year might be the best option as we will get a top 4 pick for him that could turn into some very decent for our team's needs.
Geez, he’s 24. There’s a bit of Pendles about him, including that he could potentially do that ‘the game stops when he has the ball’ thing for another 10 years. He is in the bracket of ‘incredibly hard to replace’ players. And while he may be playing individual peak game, he certainly hasn’t yet done it as consistently the way a player in his prime would. Massive loss for us if he goes.

Yeah we can check back in a few weeks but it's not out of the realms of possibility that we end up with pick 3.
Its only one win but we held on at the death when last year we couldn't. That's a major psychological barrier gone.

They've done it once, they can do it again.

They lost the plot and lost the lead and were still able to fight back and win the game. So they can do that again too.

We are capable of beating WC or Brisbane. WE have done that. If we keep coming up against sides that are missing their stars, like Collingwood next week and the goDEEs to a lesser extent the following week, we're a chance to catch them slightly off guard.

We might win several more games.

Maybe not, could be none but we could win another four or more.

If you like.

It won't change things one way or another.

A loss we need to have to evolve the team where the youngsters we draft from 2022 and beyond will take centre stage.

Bulldogs got better after captain ryan griffen left, we should never be in total negativity about someone leaving.

Uniacke has done his all for us already, he came in at a time the team was down, then some middling years before a massive drop. His psyche is that his formative years have been year after year of disaster. He won't reach a winning mentality to be the dominant midfielder thus stunting his career growth if he stays.

Lord save us from anymore of these posts……

LDU is the type of player who is critical to our success and culture and you think it would be a good idea for us to show him the door. Wow.

Okay, he might be, he isn't staying as he has parked his contract talks citing need to assess the club's progress.

In other words, he wants to be in a team ready for success. He is leaving.

Classic signs of players leaving, just like mckay.

can’t wait till trade eon when Chairman zero and nostradumbass add 15 pages a day of tripe to wade through.

You don’t need to know LDU to know that he’s a humble , loyal and upstanding individual that just wants to go about his role in the side.

Until he signs, everything points to him leaving.
Same with Paul Curtis, Bergman, Goater, Comben? All contracted 'til the end of '25 as well!

Also it's pretty funny that you now say we should shitcan LDU off somewhere and cash in, when in just march this was you:
Must get davies uniacke to sign on, he will be the prime driver in the engine room.

He’s looking for attention and he’s worked out how to get it - go against the grain

STFU he is contracted until next year. How do we even know for sure that the club has offered him an extension yet?

Key difference with McKay was he was hanging back and not actively engaging with his teammates and not giving 100% effort in every game. He only played well against Bombers, Swans and Hawks who just happened to be after his services.
I don't see the same with LDU. Every interview he's said he's excited to play with the young guys.
He was excited on family day to play with Wardlaw/Powell/Sheezel/Colby etc. I've said all along he ain't a guy who has checked out, he's actively engaged with the group and teammates. I'd be shocked if he leaves quite honestly.

Zurhaar is harder to read because I don't think he likes the spotlight. He appears a bit more introverted in that he just likes to cook food and play footy. He'd be the more likely one to leave but I'm not convinced he wants out either, but time will tell on that at the end of the year.

LDU leaving might generate draft assets but you have to nail those picks and find a Bont to replace a Ryen Griffen.
It's very hit and miss and hard to project which players will be absolute guns at AFL level.

Have you read the part where he has parked contract talks?

Meaning he won't be accepting anything for the moment.

When the star player says that, it's bascially saying he is leaving unless miracle happens.

In march he hadn't put off contract talk had he?

The other 4 aforementioned players, they are not at a level where they could posture, they eagerly awaits for the club's offer but uniacke probably has at least 10 clubs waiting for him.

Sits at 12 in the AFL player ratings.

Next closest NMFC player?

Sheezel at 90.

No other club has anywhere near the disparity between their first and second rated players.

Most have 3-4 inside the top 60.

Regarding Cam, at a players fan thing last year, I was surprised how shy he seemed. I think the “big personality” thing on field is a bit of a show.

100% it is. Very quiet fella but I’ve had a couple good chats with him over the journey. Really nice guy

Take it to the bank, ldu is gearing up to sign an extension. This parking contract talks is complete bs put out there by Jay z (shit nickname btw) who is a genuine turnip.
I believe the delay is finding a wallet sturdy enough to hold all the cash.
