I know its hard to read into what players say when talking about contracts and trades/staying etc but that interview seemed really genuine and very promising. Gives me alot more hope and confidence. I love LDU and would be really sad and disappointed if we lost him, it would be an absolute heartbreaker.

We need to keep improving though

He has to see a future of success or I wouldn't fault him for wanting to leave tbh

After the LDU interview on 3 AW wide world of sports is it me or has the chairman disappeared for a little bit?
Just maybe....

We did something similar against Freo rd2 last year. We didn't come from behind in that game but we did lead by 5 goals at 3QT and held on to win by 1.

We then lost the next 20 or so games in a row lol
The only reason we beat Freo was Harry having the presence of mind to kick the ball away from the goal line instead of putting it thru for a point with seconds left on the clock.

On the weekend we dominated after WC took the lead. Some of our best players and guys like Shiels stood up.

I've heard that same sentence from every player that is leaving Lol
Sadly true.

Ben McKay Opens Up On His Future At North

One of 2023’s most lucrative free agents Ben McKay has reaffirmed his love for North Melbourne on Triple M Footy’s Saturday Rub.

BEN MCKAY TALKS ABOUT HIS FUTURE:

McKay is out of contract at the end of the year, and is currently dealing with a stress fracture in his toe, but he says the past off-season has been a breath of fresh air for the Roos.

“I’m loving the club mate.

“The last three or four months is the best I’ve had in seven years.

“The changes we’ve had, starting from Clarko and Todd Viney, and the maturity of the group from a holistic point of view has been very impressive.

“I can understand the talk but I’m really happy.”

@The acurate one can you confirm if the club reciprocated the McKay [emoji3590]?

I'm assuming we [emoji3590] LDU as much as he [emoji3590] North

That doesn't read anything like the LDU comments to me.

That was Daniel Howe, wasn't it?

Sheez kicked it off the ground out of the goal mouth(it was actually between the point posts) while not conceding the point.

Howe gathered and kicked it out of the area and over the boundry.

Just watched the replay of the last two minutes and yep that's what happened.

I genuinely think internally that the playing group feels things are on the up & the wins will come too. Right now it’s not as simple as how many are in W’s column. The playing group know that. Clarko & Viney know what they’re doing & LDU isn’t an idiot.

Yeah, they were two separate things. Sheezel's kick was with 33 seconds to go, and definitely saved the game.

I was just thinking of Howe roving the pack with one or two seconds left.

They say they are happy and they will leave it to their manager.

I don’t recall hearing anyone who wound up leaving going the extra step of them saying their manager and the club would work it out.

Anyway, lots could change either way between now and the end of next year - for now, I’m pretty happy to hear this is where his head is at.
