I actually don't see LDU like Wells or Sheezel.

He should be encouraged to take the game on in terms of taking ground by foot, but don't think he has the innate kicking finesse of those guys to tell him to just do what he likes.

He's a pure mid. There's not a HB or forward trapped in there. His best disposal is regulation stuff, gain yardage and give off. He's not a guy who is going to routinely boom them in from 60 out.

Kind of agree, but IMO he is just as likely to hit a goal from 50m as a tough pass - so I'd prefer he just ping in range if no obvious kick. He generally is approaching at a good angle (ie. straight out of the square) so it's not low percentage given he has the distance.

Yeh he does that occasionally but tends to be more from his momentum carrying through than being a natural kick for goal.

Agree with your point that inside 50 he might as well have a ping.

Is the 33 pressure acts he had the most he’s ever had?

You seem quite invested in these pressure acts figures... You do realise that standing the mark is considered a pressure act?

I prefer to go by the eye test and I see several times a game, LDU choosing not to chase or create pressure on the ball carrier.

No, I didn’t know that standing the mark is considered a pressure act, pretty silly considering they can’t even move.

CD definition - not entirely clear, but standing the mark arguably fits within this (lowest score for any PA - 1.2; physical pressure is 3.75)

Pressure Act (Corralling): The lowest form of pressure a player can apply, where they are simply occupying space in front of the ball carrier to prevent them moving forward, or have a run at them, but not quickly enough to record ‘closing’ pressure.

Its the most basic of pressure acts according to chatgpt
Champion data glossary doesn't mention it specifically but does talk about "frontally applied pressure" so they probably count people on the mark running at players after the ump has called play on. At that point they're technically no longer on the mark tho, cos its open play again.

AI wouldn't know its arse from its elbow tho so i wouldn't rely on that.

In fact if you're bored ask it if it knows its arse from elbow. Probably good for a laugh.

Champion Data also refers to “anally applied pressure” it’s a specific metric reserved solely for North Melbourne who are bent over and f*cked up the arse every week by our opponents.
