It is definatly garbage - If you heard what he has said he would love to do the job but the Rex Hunt future fish foundation & his fishing show comes 1st .
But there is an Ex Player around his age that is going to run for the board.!!!!!!:) :D

Have to agree foxhat, rexy has been asked and requested to stand for the board many times in the past and as given fairly sound reasons why he would not, including those already stated.

Could this be part of your big secret???? :)

Hunt is out, but I will throw a few names about:- Gale, Broderick & Welsh are on the ticket. No hope with a no name president. Apparently they are going to go public very soon. Our club needs this like a hole in the head.

Rodan, not when they have ambitions to replace the entire coaching panel. They could even go public this Thursday at 9.30pm.

Actually diggler does have a point here. If Gale seeks election to the board with an agenda of replacing the coaching staff, it can only be seen as a bad thing.

There are two cultural flaws that continually hurt us as a club - the tendency to chop the coaches head off in times of trouble and also the tendency of the players to dictate to the coaching panel / board on how the place is to be run.

If Gale's platform is on this basis, we again perpetuate the same mistakes. As he is less than 12 months out of retirement he can easily be seen as an agent of the playing group seeking to wrest control of the whole club! And as he retired in less than glorious circumstances, it may well be seen as some form of retribution.

Don't let the lunatics run the asylum!

I doubt very much that Paul Broderick is part of any push ... Paul is a very private person, and such a move seems out of character so soon after retirement.

Woosher Welsh is a very busy man with New Balance. His participation would surprise me, though not quite as much as Brodders.

Benny ... well, it just seems too soon. Has he finished law school yet ? Surely he needs to establish himself in business before taking such a plunge. Same could be said for Brodders, for that matter.

If indeed your rumour is true, a feel a bit sad for these blokes ... it might get ugly for them.

Benny, Welsh and Brodders.

Hmmm....was this what Knighta was alluding to when, during an interview earlier this week he called for more former ex-Richmond players to be involved in the running of the club???
