Disappointing by our young brigade, but the last quarter was a solid effort. Big downers in the ruck brigade, with Will Minson to miss the next week with a twisted ankle, and Peter Street suspended for a week after a solid match. Rob Murphy was very good up forward, and Robbo was also good, despite kicking 1.3. Brisbane at home this week.

League News: Fraser Gehrig had 26 possessions and 7 goals in St Kilda's 118 point mauling of Brisbane, Aaron Hamill chipped in with two. Scott Welsh kicked eight for Adelaide as they belted Collingwood by 74 points. Barry Hall monstered the Carlton defence with nine goals in Sydney's 105 point win, while Darren Jolly dominated with 47 hit outs.

Great come from behind victory from the boys after a disappointing loss last week. We drifted as far as 20 points down before hitting back as Rob Murphy was wonderful again. Tim Walsh was disappointing, not getting a touch at full forward as Mal Michael carved him up. No injuries or reports for us is very good.

League News: Fremantle's seven point win over Adelaide came at a cost, as new signing Josh Carr is set to miss the season unless Fremantle make the grand final after he received a knee injury. On a lighter note, Jeff Farmer was best on ground with six goals and 28 disposals. Nigel Lappin's tripping of Brad Johnson received and unprecedented 6 weeks, while Henry Playfair will be out for the same timeframe after breaking his foot.

What a victory! A huge game from the young bloke heading into the real season, even if we didn't qualify for the semi finals. Cooney and Faulkner were brilliant, while young Jesse Wells showed he has a real future ahead of him after a 14 touch 3 goal haul. Adam Cooney had 27 touches and Cam Faulkner 25. The defence is a worry, with Gehrig beating Hargrave, but Brian Harris did a very good job on Riewoldt.

League News: Sydney/Geelong was a costly game for both teams, despite Sydney winning by 49 points, both teams with be without key players for the remainder of the season. Nick Davis and Jimmy Bartel both did their ACLs, while Essendon's Adam McPhee will be missing for five weeks after a severely torn hamstring.

Very good win this time, much more accountable, and the defence was strong in the wet weather. Robert Murphy continues to blossum as a player, this time recording 34 disposals, while Luke Darcy was solid in the ruck and provided a viable option up forward. Unfortunately, Cameron Faulkner will not be back until Round 4, and a broken foot will keep Jade Rawlings on the sidelines for 13 weeks. The Magpies next week, who have come off an 82 point belting of Carlton, which sees them move to the top of the table, so it is going to be tough.

League News: Brisbane and Sydney have fought out the first draw of the season, despite Sydney's five more scoring shots. Barry Hall was best on ground with 7 goals. St Kilda's hard fought win over Essendon has come at a cost, with dynamo midfielder Luke Ball sustaining a broken foot, keeping him sidelined for 8 weeks. Sydney's Luke Ablett has been suspended one week for wrestling.

What a game, but that last quarter was not at all convincing. Gilbee was supurb, kicking three off a half back flank, and Scotty West racked up his usual touches. We remain undefeated, but need to play a lot better next week against Geelong if we are to have any chance of finals.

League News: Up and coming Carlton ruckman Chris Bryan and Swan Ben Matthews joined the long list of knee injuries after sustaining season ending injuries, now standing at five. This is the second Swan to miss the season, meaning youngster Guy Campbell joins Luke Vogels to be promoted off the rookie list. Meanwhile, Melbourne claimed top spot with a 100 point thrashing of Fremantle, youngster Nick Smith booting six.

Disgusting loss by the boys, but was probably overshadowed by the Melbourne 109 point win over Carlton.. Peter Street played his best game for the team, with 33 hit outs against Steven King, but it was nowhere near enough as we slumped to our first loss. Another undefeated team this week, Port Adelaide.

League News: Adem Yze kicked three and got 39 disposals in a huge effort as Melbourne smashed Carlton by 109 points. David Neitz kicked four. Fremantle got their first win of the year in a five point nail biter against Adelaide, with Paul Medhurst kicking six. Another knee victim, this time St Kilda's Brent Guerra, who will miss 18 weeks as he damaged his knee in St Kilda's 26 point win over the Kangaroos.

Great come from behind victory considering how far we were behind at half time. Gilbee and Smith were sensational, as was the defensive pressure of Matty Robbins. Good pressure in the ruck from Peter Street, but we need Darcy to perform up there a bit better. The Saints will hope to bounce back against us after an embarrassing loss to Hawthorn.

League News: Melbourne remain the only team to win all their games so far, and are undefeated alongside Brisbane who has two wins and two draws. Influential Saint, Aussie Jones will miss seven weeks with a broken arm, while Graham Johncock, Clark Keating and Josh Francou all copped one week at the tribunal.

Good win by the boys, but we were lucky the Saints were unable to kick straight. Sam Power was carved up by Milne, who kicked five on him, before Jordan McMahon kept him goaless for the last quarter. With Nayna in good form at Werribee, as with Morris, he may be the one to come in.

League News: Kangaroo Hamish McIntosh will miss the rest of the season after doing his ACL. The Demons remain undefeated with a 56 point win over Geelong. Mark Williams stays at the top of the Coleman ladder with a three goals haul, but it was Josh Thurgood who stole the day with five goals in Hawthorn's 16 point win over Essendon.

Good win by the boys under tough circumstances, and it moves us into the top four. Two away games in the next two weeks, in Sydney and in Perth against Freo which is a tough task.

League News: Melbourne account for Hawthorn, but at a cost, as roughening up tactics of Mark Williams see Brad Miller on report for eye gouging and Jared Rivers for charging. Hawk young gun Sam Mitchell will miss five weeks, while Brownlow favourite Warren Tredrea will miss two. At the tribunal, the AFL went hard against Melbourne, with Jared Rivers copping nine weeks for a dangerous charge, while Miller copped four for eye gouging. Port's Aaron Shattock also got nine after kneeing Heath Black, Henry Playfair got three for tripping, while Crow captain Mark Riccuito was cleared of tripping Jess Sinclair.

Disappointing end to a game we should have won. I never like draws. Amazingly, this is Sydney's second draw of the year, and the forth all told this season for all clubs, in just seven rounds! Last quarter was a shocker, mainly because Brian Harris was injured and couldn't take on Barry Hall. Peter Street went down in the first minute of the game, and didn't take any further part, but young Walsh covered Darcy up forward when he moved into the ruck. Both debutons were good, Walsh with 14 touches and 2.2, while Nayna had 13 touches.

League News: League leaders Melbourne have suffered their first loss of the season, to Brisbane, as they were smashed by 95 points. Jonathan Brown was best on ground, with 25 touches and seven goals. Across the country, West Coast belted Fremantle by 103 points, Phil Matera booting five, and Chris Judd three, alongside 31 disposals. Kangaroo Nathan Thompson copped two weeks for kneeing Andrew Welsh. Tiger Trent Knobel will miss the rest of the season with an ACL, unless Richmond make the finals.

Our best win of the season for a number of reasons. Thanks to Melbourne losing, we are top of the table. We won in Perth. We came from behind so well. Great game all around by everyone, Matty Robbins is a superstar in our forward pocket, and Ryan Griffen showed potential, despite just four touches. Unfortunately, Dale Morris will miss three weeks with a torn hamstring.

League News: The big news saw another cruiciate knee victim, this time Richmond forward Nathan Brown. Brown will miss the rest of the season, to add to Richmond's injury woes. In other news, inspirational Port captain Matthew Primus will also miss the rest of the season, doing his knee again. The Demons have been knocked off the top of the ladder after a 29 point loss to Essendon. Geelong's Steven King got two weeks for making contact with an umpire.

Good, clean win. Solid effort by the boys, with Robbo, again, sensational. Another debuton this week, Brad Murphy, no huge impact, but being top of the table, it is hard. Top of the table clash with Melbourne next week, will be a big test to see where we are.

League News: Clean slate in the reports this week, but Saint ruckman Cain Ackland will miss fifteen weeks with a low grade cruciate. Swan back flanker Tadhg Kennelly with be out for nine with a broken arm. Essendon smash Port Adelaide by 84 points, Matthew Lloyd kicking 8.5. Another very good win, although the accuracy is fairly worrying, but young gun Tim Walsh kicked 3.6 in his best effort for the club, and Patrick Bowden was in some form. Cooney returned after a very good game in the VFL, and was fairly solid. Robbins extended his lead on the club goalkicking tally with one goal.

League News: Matthew Pavlich played his first game of the season after a ten week layoff with a broken arm in Fremantle's nailbiting four point loss to Essendon. Pavlich was one of Freo's best, booting five. Adelaide crush bottom placed Richmond by 84 points, Scott Welsh best with four goals. Matthew Lloyd moves six goals ahead in the Coleman Medal tally, bagging five, while Chad Cornes became outright Brownlow favourite ahead of Matthew Lloyd and Nick Riewoldt with 28 touches in his Best on Ground effort in Port's three point loss to Melbourne on Friday night.

Another good win, but probably not enough against the bottom side. Third quarter was terrible, but we won the game, so that is all that matters. Adam Cooney was sensational with 25 touches, and Rohan Smith was wonderful as well.

League News: Two 100 point thrashings this week, the first at the GABBA as Brisbane belted Fremantle by 141 points, 197 to 56. Big man Jonathan Brown kicked nine, while Michael Voss and Jason Akermanis slotted four each. At Skilled Stadium, Geelong cruicified Hawthorn by 131 points with Henry Playfair kicking six, and Steve Johnson four. Kent Kingsley could have made it more, but he ended with 0 goals and five points. Port's Josh Francou got three weeks for kneeing Glenn Archer, while Matt McCarthy was cleared of rough conduct against Nick Holland.

Very disappointing game. After a great first quarter, we dropped off completely. Giansiracusa was our best, while Scotty West racked up 33 touches. But their forwards were just too big, Lloyd belted Harris while Laycock was too good for Hargrave. Grant had Lucas, leaving Johns to undersized backman Dale Morris. We still sit a game and a half clear at the top of the ladder.

League News: Brisbane take second on the ladder with a 66 point win over Richmond. Brisbane, Geelong and Melbourne are only separated by percentage. Geelong captain Steven King will miss the rest of the season after tearing his hamstring and breaking his left foot in a sickening incident as his foot was caught under a pack breaking his foot and then a fall tearing his hamstring.

Another disappointing loss, but it isn't helpful when you only have one on the bench. Only Robbins will miss next week. Overuse of the ball cost us, compared to the Roos and their long kicking. Nine of our players had over 20 touches, yet we still lost by 42. This harms our percentage, which, despite being at the top of the ladder, is just 102.

League News: Sydney full forward Barry Hall has kicked nine in his teams 84 point dispatching of St Kilda. Sydney now sit out of the eight just on percentage, while St Kilda fall to seventh. Fremantle have won their forth game of the season after Matthew Pavlich booted six in his teams 33 point win over Carlton at Telstra Dome. While Richmond also posted their second win, to move within a game of fifteenth. What a win! Just managed to hold them off in the end, but we were very lucky they couldn't kick straight. Hahn was supurb in his return with 4 goals and 24 touches, while Lindsay Gilbee had 33 touches. Jade Rawlings was underdone, and just managed three touches.

League News: Geelong forward Kent Kingsley will miss eight weeks after breaking his arm in Geelong's 33 point loss to Essendon. Another disappointing loss, meaning we only lead the ladder by 2 premiership points over Geelong. Another case of overusing the ball, Scotty West with 36 touches, Adam Cooney with 32 and Brad Johnson with 30 were our best. Scott Welsh kicked just one on Hargrave and kicked three on Harris, while Tim Walsh did a good job in defence on Hentschel. Daniel Giansiracusa had 21 first half touches, but was then kept to just one in the second half by Martin Mattner.

League News: An inaccurate Melbourne side have lost 9.13 (67) to 10.9 (69) against the Kangaroos, the main offender Cam Bruce, who kicked 1.3. A big week at the tribunal, with six players on report. Brady Rawlings was cleared for wrestling with Brad Miller, Saint Fraser Gehrig ended any Coleman hopes after being hit with a four week ban for verbally abusing umpire Michael Avon, Fremantle big man Michael Johnson has been cleared of charging Corey Enright, Cat Henry Playfair copped a week for striking Fremantle on baller Andrew Browne, Brownlow hope Jason Akermanis is still elligable after being cleared of kneeing Adam Schneider, while Matthew Richardson also lost any hope of the Coleman, getting four weeks for verbally abusing and umpire.

Another good, close win, against Matty Robbins was a hero up forward. Daniel Giansiracusa got five touches in the first term, but was injured for the rest of the game. He will be right for next week. Young Damien McCormack was sensational on debut, racking up 19 touches and five rebound fifties off a half back flank. Scotty West and Brad Johnson were terrific as usual. Again, we open a two point break on the pack after Geelong suffered a loss, but Port won.

League News: Adelaide full forward Scott Welsh will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury. The Crows were beaten by West Coast, 25 points the margain. Swan ruckman Jason Ball will also miss the rest of the season with a broken foot. Port Adelaide have smashed Sydney by 69 points, Warren Tredrea best on ground with 21 touches and four goals. Very disappointing effort. We were right in it at 3QT, but were blown away in the last quarter. Very disappointing.

League News: Matthew Lloyd's Coleman Medal hopes could be dashed following his injury on the weekend. The Full Forward will miss until at least after Week 2 of the finals, six weeks, after shattering his pelvis in Essendon's 19 point loss to Collingwood. The Bombers, who sit in ninth - a game out of the eight, will miss Lloyd, who leads Jonathan Brown by nine goals in the Coleman Medal Tally. Port Adelaide move to top spot with a 94 point victory over Richmond, Warren Tredrea kicking four and having 28 disposals. Brownlow Medal contender Warren Tredrea has been suspended for four games for kneeing David Rodan, rendering him inelligable for the Brownlow. Demon Jared Rivers copped a week for striking Andrew Walker of Carlton, Saint Max Hudghton got a week for making contact with an umpire, while his team mate Steven Baker will count himself lucky after being let off for verbally abusing an umpire, something Fraser Gehrig and Matthew Richardson both got four weeks for.

Another very disappointing effort as we stuffed around with the ball again. Farren Ray was great for the first quarter, racking up 11 touches, and finished with 20. Damien McCormack was also solid in the youngster department. Luke Darcy had 31 touches.

Yet another loss, and I begin to wonder what the hell has happened since round 12. Sitting in fifth, we now lose Brad Johnson for the first week of the finals, and of course the rest of the season. Rohan Smith and Rob Murphy look certain to fight it out for the Best and Fairest.

League News: Richmond sit last on the ladder after a three point loss to Carlton, who sat level with Richmond and Hawthorn and the foot of the table before the round. Hawthorn also had a win, beating Essendon. Fremantle's Shane Parker did his knee, but of course will miss just two games of footy with Fremantle unable to make the finals. Melbourne six point win over Geelong came at a cost, a broken arm to Cameron Bruce will keep him out of the finals. The Demons also had another blow, Aaron Davey suspended for four weeks.

That hurts. Not only the result, but injuries have hit at the worst time. First Harris, then Johnno, now Luke Darcy will miss three weeks, meaning we need to play the GF for him to play again. We finish sixth, meaning we face St Kilda at Telstra Dome in some poor form. We went with youth this week, and it didn't pay off, but it did send a message to some of the older blokes that they are not safe. Tom Williams got just five touches, Jesse Wells just the three.

League News: Hawthorn grab the spoon with a 12 point loss to Collingwood, who don't make the eight despite winning 12 games. Port easily get the Minor Premiership.
