A Message from Roo

With our final home game of the year being played in this weekend’s Preliminary Final against West Coast, I thought it was important to write to all members to thank you, on behalf of the whole team, for your outstanding support during season 2006.

Our average home crowd increased slightly this year but I believe that the support and encouragement for the team has increased substantially this year culminating in an unbelievable effort by all the supporters to help the team over the line against Fremantle. I know we can rely on the same or better this week.

I can say that the team is really looking forward to taking on West Coast tomorrow. They have established themselves as the best team in the minor round this year but as Craigy always tells us “to be the best, you have to beat the best”. So that will be our challenge this weekend.

I was driving home last Wednesday and noticed some of our members camping out overnight at the Fulham Gardens Bass outlet waiting to get the best available Preliminary Final tickets. I asked the membership guys at the club about this and found out that heaps of members had camped out or at least had gotten out of bed very early to secure their tickets. This commitment is sensational and very much appreciated by everyone involved in the club especially the playing group.

I can assure you that we will try to match that commitment this weekend when we take on the Eagles.
