A new stadium chant.

As per the title suggests, I've been thinking for sometime that we need to invent something other than (The faithful, though admittedly over-used) EEEEAGLES.

Even then, that's starting to die down to just a cheer or a jeer with the occasional "COME ON EAGLES" in the background.

So whilst I was contemplating what we could use, I cast my mind back a few weeks when the lads traveled interstate (Would of been either Rich/Coll), and before the lads walked out the races they all seemed to touch a sign that read, "Time to Hunt".

I was thinking of an atmosphere a 40k stadium would bring if it broke out chanting 'Hunt' in a style I'd much describe replicated the Mighty Ducks 'Quack' Chant.

I could see something like that being rather Intimidating to the opposition and perhaps even inspiring to our lads and would create an amazing atmosphere.

That's just my view on it, obviously would love to hear other peoples opinion(s) on it or other ideas they may have.





On the side, I also thought if we could replicate something like Ports "Never Tear Us Apart".

I came to the conclusion something like "The Game - Motorhead" would be awesome if played 60 seconds prior to the bounce.

(50+ Points if you can guess where I got that Inspiration from).

I think 30+ k people yelling hunt would be intimidating as fk when the opposition had the vall - they already hear footsteps when we have the web going well - this would intensify the feeling

If you want something edgier something like the intro to Enter Sandman or Where Eagles Dare by Misfits (keeping the Eagles theme).

The older set would probably spit out their chardonnay though.

always thought 'west coast eagles' thud thud thud thud would be great along the lines of 'let's go yankees' or 'bar-ce-lo-na'. we actually got it up and going in our block in the 05 prelim behind the city end goals but never again was i with such a big crew that it ever got tried again

Something to get the boys and the crowd pumped up before bounce down though would be nice. Fox footy I think use to (or still do?) have a bit of a jungle beat soundtrack build up before the center bounce then ended up being an anticlimax because it just stops and all you can hear is an Oooofff from the umpire and then the flog commentators.

I love the idea, very unique, and would be extremely intimidating for the opposition. Hardest part is to start it and help it get mainstream recognition, would definitely be worthwhile though IMO. Trouble is all the old pr*cks who don't make a sound or don't turn up to games half the time, preventing more vocal fans from having an impact.

The Hunt chant is a good Idea especially because as the good 'ol Garry Lyon said we have a pack mentality over here in the west. Though, I admit like a few posters on here the first thing I thought of when trying to imagine 40 thousand people chanting Hunt is that after a few chants it would probably start sounding less like hunt and more like campaigner. But who cares. Only Vic media will have a problem with it. Plus imagine at the new stadium with the electronic boundry signs and tier signs around the stadium saying hunt in blue and gold with that chant then they could have on the big screen an animated Eagle come and "hunt" an animation of the mascot of the opposition.

Plus 10/10 just purely for mentioning the Mighty Ducks
