Neale was a very good footballer and his career was cut short by injury.

He then post playing days, went on to be both an AFL Coach and also an administrator with several Clubs, one of which was ours.

Neale was the West Coast Eagles General Manager of Football Operations 2008-2013.

What a wonderful contribution to the AFL community.

However its his work post the not insignificant football exploits and involvements, that he will be best remembered for.

The courage, determination and attitude that he demonstrated in is flight against that most awful of diseases in MND, is the legacy for which he will be most and best remembered for.

In the face of the unfathomable adversity that confronted him, it was his unbelievable positivity and determination that was a beacon of inspirational goodness, that touched us all.

He both lived and demonstrated and embraced one of life's greatest mindsets, and thats the power of choice.

Rather than succumb to an attitude and negative mind set of why me, and life really sucks, Neale Daniher decided to tackle his confronting health issue head on and make the best out of what was indeed a shitty situation.

To resist the emotional pull of negativity and replace it with a positive mental attitude, that actually allowed him to make a significant contribution to the greater good of the world.

Neale was able to not only raise public awareness to the issues that confront those with, and the families of those, who MND has impacted.

His MND foundation has raised over 115 million dollars, to fight, research and work toward finding a cure for this cruel and insidious disease.

Thats the LEGACY that Neale Daniher will be fondly and lovingly remembered for.

He left this world a better place for him having lived in it.

"The Reverend" will always hold a strong emotional place in my heart, he lead by example and that is an inspiring and uplifting virtue and gift that he has left us all.

Some men lead, some men follow, it was pretty obvious which camp ND was from.

I do hope that he finds the reserved seat in the corporate box on the wing at "Pearly Gate Stadium".

Rest up good fella, you lived a full and inspiring life and left a world better for your contributions.

RIP 🌹

Obviously did a lot for MND awareness etc, but he was also our GM of Football Operations 2008 - 2013 when he had to stand down due to his diagnosis.

Not sure what his day to day duties were, but I'm assuming he would have been neck deep in sorting out our culture post Cuz and friends.

Legend.

Sad news but he fought with the upmost strength and courage. A key player in rebuilding the club following the culture issues from the early to mid 2000s. Now out of pain. RIP Neale.

He’s one of those people whose impact will live beyond his years on earth. Such an honourable, inspiring fight against a brutal, vicious disease.

Rest Easy Neale - universally loved, respected and admired by all 18 clubs and beyond footy.

The West Coast Eagles will pay tribute to Neale Daniher at the Club’s home game on Sunday against Essendon and during the annual WA Freeze match in round 13.

It's remarkable how long and hard he fought against one hell of an awful disease. Amazing what he was able to contribute to the game and wider community.

A colleague posted his experiences with the disease before he passed, worth a watch - Team Reilly vs MND

RIP Neale.
