Does anyone know why we played at The Swamp twice against the same team in one season? Round 1 was our home game I think, and it's definitely possible that one of these games (against Carlton) at the swamp cost us.

Commonwealth Games - no MCG for 4 weeks! Don't worry, I'd forget about the Games too!

Agree with the posts above, the Dome doesn't suit the style of football we play anymore. Our record there in the past has actually been pretty good (anyone care to get stats?), but it seems the way we play these days doesn't suit it at all. Teams like Carlton and the Dogs can flood back and play boring football on that "turf" better than most too. I was annoyed today, but actually half expected it.

On a side note, I just want to say that Jason Bennett is the worst caller in footy. In fact, the whole Fox Footy team on a Saturday is complete and utter rubbish.

And another side note for SS - you thought the 90's were bad, feel for guys like BT who went to every game in the 80's!!! ;)

Oh and keeping in mind, I learnt from the Herald Sun today that we are the Victorian team who plays the least amount of games at the Dome. We've won 15/25, which is pretty substandard but we cannot be blamed for having not much exposure to the ground. BOO YAH Adelaide won, third possie yaaaay. Bate for Rising Star nomination this week...Will be the second we've had but in all seriousness we should have 4 by now

Meanwhile please tell me Johnstone was legitimately crocked and not just being rested. I haven't been his biggest fan this year but anything that would have kept Bell out of the side would have been a bonus.

Yeah TJ apparently didn't train on Friday so I think it was legit. You simply don't rest your best players. Unless you're Collingwood. What? It's true ain't it?

But they did! That's my point.
I have no idea what your point is.

*Last season while Sydney were winning games, Andrew Demetriou said that it was ugly footy that will not win premierships, even though they were winning when he said it. He was wrong.

*This weekend Melbourne lost to bottom team Carlton for the second time this season. Andrew Demetriou has made no comment of this loss.

This loss has nothing to do with Sydney last season in any way shape or form. Yes Sydney went on to win the premiership, but what has any of that got to do with Melbourne losing to the bottom team for the second time this season?

Again, I have no idea what your point it is.

The future is undetermined though, but the loser of Sydney and Melbourne next week will fall out of the top-4, most likely at the expense of Collingwood as I expect Collingwood to pass St.Kilda's percentage next week.

It's all a log-jam now, but Melbourne probably has the hardest draw of the teams trying to finish top-4. Yesterday's loss was crucial to Melbourne more than any of the other teams vying for the top-4, and I now think that Sydney and Collingwood will finish 3rd-4th.

If we end up going out with the same splutter as last year, then questions will need to be asked... players sacked and the coach kicked out on his bumb. It is a joke the way we play. Swap the likes of Green for a good forward and get a new captain and find some players who actually will die for the club. We are going nowhere.

Your statement is foolish. Sydney were not winning games at the time when Demetriou made 'those comments'

It was a statement made in response to their extreme and ugly flooding against St.Kilda in a game (coincedently at TD) where Sydney still got flogged.

Correct.

And my point was outlined in my previous post:

People seem to think that to win a Premiership you must trounce the opposition every week. Not true, to win the Flag you must put yourself in a good position during the H&A season to have a crack (which we have done) and then perform in the crunch games, the FINALS. That's when the acid test begins.
