Why are people in the news sections always "Mr Madden" but in the sport just "Madden"?
A while ago it was trendy to call everyone by their surname only in news articles, females included, which always sounded a bit off to me. But these days they seem to have reverted to the more courteous, Mr X, Dr Z, and so on.

Can't imagine reading about Mr Hird, Mr Voss, Mr Liberatore, etc though :)
