Did Bob Murphy really have that good a season?

Every game I watched he was near A Grade. Directed traffic, used the ball really well, good run and carry. The 3 Bulldogs backs were all pretty good for different reasons Boyd/Murphy/Wood.

There is something i really dislike about Murphy... He comes across as very smug.. But yes he had a pretty damn good year and worthy of AA.

If Walker doesn't get the Captaincy you'd think Murphy will get it. Pendlebury the only other Captain not sure hes a leader of men...

My clearest memory of Murphy is one of those Rocca boys destroying his knee in a tackle early in his career.

I like Murphy a lot and gee, he is still pretty damn quick for an old boy!

I think the anti-NN sentiment is nicely summed up inadvertently by a freo fan in the AA main board thread.

Someone rang SEN with some stats SteF MArtin vs Nicnat. No matter how mad an eagles fan you are, you cant seriously argue his inclusion, at least over Martin who was the Lions best player for much of they year.

Unless everyones watched all games closely, off the cuff remarks like that are pointless. I must admit Ive not seen enough of NicNat or Martin out of those 4.

I think the thing Freo fans look at is that Sandi towels everyone up when he plays them, ergo he is the best. What they don't seem to consider is that other rucks can have a significant impact in games where they face a more conventionally sized opponent than Aaron. This means other rucks have 20+ games to impress for AA where Sandi dishes out effectively the same performance every week.

He was stiff not to make the extended squad though!

Gov - no chance, was included on hype from his start to the year, Shep should be in his spot.

Yes I know Gov is a machine and is awesome but he played maybe 10-13 awesome games and the rest just average/injured.

I love the old "Gee, what would you do without his one mark and one handball per game". You can tell right there that they don't watch the games and are also stupid as ****...but you can tell the last bit because they support Freo

How did Dalhaus get in, esp in front of someone like Lecras? I'm not esp. impressed by Easton Wood either although I don't watch many of their games.

When JK left Carlton I was glad in a way. Our club has stunted the development of players recently and he has obviously turned into a gun.

I must admit that I did not think he would become All Australian though. Nor did I rate Priddis until this year, where he has been phenomenal.

They keep saying Sandilands beat everyone. When in fact there were a few games where he basically drew with the other ruckman. If its hitouts they are basing it on then he lost to Jamar earlier in the year and also Goldstein. There are probably others too

In fairness, the amount of people, including West Coast fans, that write off Sandilands just because "he's so tall" shows that they cop plenty themselves.

Walker and Hodge both shouldn't be in the final 22 if you ask me. So that rules out 2 obvious candidates. Pendlebury had a meh season too.

There's no other captains. JK could be in as a possible skipper smokey i think.
