was reasonably happy with the all australian team unlike last year.
only a couple i didnt have in were medhurst and big sandi..

thank god for the characters we still have in our league ie richo, fev, judd, and buddy.. these guys made the night imo..

Can't believe Judd got Captain, he is the AFL's Lovechild.
Hudghton very unlucky, I don't think the AA selectors take into account how many goals have been kicked against the player (Max/Scarlett would have the least goals against them for the year surely?). They just look at how many disposals they average.

I'm not saying that Judd has not been great for Carlton, but I think his leadership and mentoring has been as important as anything else. He has been overated as a player this year in my opinion.

I agree. Reiwoldt should have been Captain. Has been an inspiration this season and has lifted his team into a Preliminary with a chance at a GF. Compare this to leading Carlton to 11th. What a joke.
Judd was lucky to even make the team, and as starting ruck rover. Ablett isn't the only midfielder to have been better than Judd this season.

Judd making the AA team reminds me of Jordan getting a guernsey in the all star game in his comeback year with Washington. At least there was an excuse for that - the public vote for the all star team, meaning reputation and playing for a big team make all the difference. What's the AA selection committee's excuse?
I think Harley captain and Roo VC would have been about right. Judd carrrying Hudghton's boots would have been about right too.

I knew it was coming, but I still cannot believe Harley made the side. I mean what does he actually contribute? Every time Harley is mentioned Geelong fans bring up the 'number 1 in marks from opposition kicks' stat but that's about as far as they go in explaining how Harley is actually premier player. If you asked the 16 coaches to pick one of Harley or Max for their team based on this season, leadership aside, they would go Max every time. At least Mackie didn't make it.
Judd and Sandilands make me lol but other than that I reckon the side is pretty much spot on, not much to argue with. Great to see Chips finally get some recognition and Riewoldt finally get the CHF spot, but I guess Max will probably end up AA-less, which in a way is appropriate considering how underrated his career's been.
