Aaron Sandilands wants Solomon, Hasleby re-signed

2 years easily for hase. Members should protest if he is forced to walk.

I think 1 year for solly purely for his attack on the ball and general toughness and willingness to stand up for our youngsters.

bugger i thought you meant Hase had re-signed :(

i'd be happy with 2 years for Hase and 1 year for Solly

i agree on all accounts

We did that with Macca and it was a mistake.
The difference is that at the time Macca was barely best 22, whereas Hase is having on of his better seasons just back from injury.

Though I agree, protesting the club is a silly reaction. Let's just hope both parties make the right choice. I'd be happy with 2 years.

But Chops is a must

i'm still dumbfouned that the club is baulking at at 2 year deal for hase,it smacks of the old freo poor mismanagement to me,i thought those days were gone.
we or the club could not have asked anymore of hase, this year especially, add to that the fact that hase is probobly partly the reason for pav sticking around.
to see hase running around in another jumper would break my heart.
give him his 2 years freo ,go play contract hardball with somebody else, not hase.

Surely resigning Soloman would be counter to the Clubs policy re youth.
erm, he's not 33 last time I checked... btw, either list a club or expect people here to think you're a troll... "unlisted"s don't usually get a fair shake of the sav around here...

Given that we are going to want to elevate a few rookies to the main list at the end of the year and the fact that Solomon is the oldest of our DUMBARSES I would think it unlikely that he would be retained. Two years for Hase - definitely.

We'll be elevating a few rookies for sure, but not all of them. deBoer and Broughton for sure, but not necessarily Pratt or Pearce.

As for Solly being a dumbarse, that's a bit of a stretch... I certainly wouldn't lump him in the same category as the tried and true names we'll be getting rid of at season's end. Unless we get a hardnut in the draft, we need to keep him around for another year; you can see how his tackling and endeavour at the ball rubs off on the likes of Ibbo, deBoer and Suban.

As good as solomon is at attacking the football he is still a liability with it in his hands. Turns the ball over almost every time, gives away way too many free kicks and has butter hands. LIABILITY

What were his turnover stats in the derby 13? something like 7 turnovers from kicks and 5 free kicks against. Once we get guys like Crowley back and DeBoer with another preseason we wont need him.

I didn't mention anything about his age and it was a perfectly logical question. If anyone (apart from you) thinks that is trolling then I am happy not to visit your board. Thanks for the welcome.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Do you mean his resigning (as in quitting) or re-signing (as in signing up again)? If you mean the latter, then you referred to the club's policy re youth, which is generally determined by age, ergo, in a not so roundabout way you said Solomon is too old.

Regardless, Solomon's age is not the problem. It's his disposal and his discipline. He'll be treading a very line for the remainder of the season. The return of some senior players next year will take the pressure off him and his disposal may improve. I wouldn't expect him to be signed until after trade week.

Solomon has in my opinion been impressive, one of our better recruiting efforts & has softened the blow of losing carr, cook, mcmanus etc --> and he's surely on average a better kick/decision maker than those guys. I'm a big fan.

Would like to see hase given two, given this year i'd say thats a pretty low risk & it would make me feel sick in the gut watching him playing elsewhere.

and that policy only aplies to trading/drafting once there already at the club we can keep them till there 40 if there still good enough and it wont go against that youth policy
