One has to feel a bit sorry for the Dockers, sat there in amazement at the happenings on the field...

So, how did it happen

Are Freo that bad?

Are we that good?

Or was it just one of those rare games where we were completely on, and they were completely off?

Really felt for Fremantle's kids.

Not their fault. There is some talent there. They are paying the price for years and years of ineptitude that has left the senior player cupboard bare. There was no leadership out on the field.

Guys like Mundy, Haselby, Dodd, Grover, Schammer, Peake, Solomon, Bradley... they are simply unable to change the momentum in a game. They have minimal presence about them. They're (just) ok when Pavlich and Sandilands are leading the way but without them... real lack of intensity and skill. It almost seemed as though they realised early it was going to be a bad one and were content to sit back and allow it to happen.

Poisonous environment for guys like Broughton, Duffield, Hill, Ibbotson, Suban, Clarke, Hinkley, Ballantyne and all their other kids to grow up in.

The above sums it up just about right, after the deliberate behind kicked by Schammer the dockers did not want to be there.

I think they certainly have some quality youngsters - Ballantyne looks like something special and Duffield showed something last night. Broughton topped the possession count didn't he? So their young talent tried. It was their experienced mid-tier players that gave nothing.

To be fair, the loss of Pav, Sandilands and Headland was a pretty big loss to cover - hell look how Geelong are travelling with their big guns out! Difference is Geelong battled manfully, you couldn't really say the same for Freo.

Bottom line is though, we were absolutely switched on. We were on a mission and nobody was getting in our way. It was beautiful to watch!
