Not sure if mentioned prior..... on the news tonight Cooper Hodge was training at hawks today. For the knowledgeable....is he a likely choice for us?

Good by us to send him down to flush out any of Hawthorns IP that might be worth knowing.

Maybe instead of spending millions on some in-season tournament no one wants, the AFL should spend that money to enhance and bolster the academies and other national talent pathways. We need so much more talent to accommodate the current 18 team setup, let alone when we add more teams.
I do like how if we go through with that, we will get a reduced fixture. I believe teams should only play each other once, and if you saw Geelongs draw for the rest of the season, you would be shocked if they didn't make the top 4. Personally, I would bring in 2 more teams. Make it 20 rounds. Have a 3-4 gap in the middle of the season. Have State of Origin and AFLW run in the middle of that gap. And finish the season.

It was a tad windy but not freezing....the Hodge's need to toughen up ;)
Yeah strange. Wouldn't have thought yesterday was too bad at all. Luke has lost his touch if he thought yesterday was cold. But clearly the family need to stay north then

I still maintain that having kids go through our academy that we cant draft going to another clubs is 100% a good thing. So if he happens to go F/S then can speak highly of the help we gave him along the way, then great.

Miller and the other experts can see ways to improve the academy but creating a good talent pathway including sending other kids around the country is a good thing

Staggering numbers

“The amount of games missed to injury by top 30 draft picks.
“In 2021 it was 147, in 2022 it was 251, in 2023 it was 379.
“And last year it was 447 games missed, and at the moment we're at 383 games of kids who have missed through injury.

Glad in a way that we are letting players like Gallop, Marshall, Lloyd, ZZ and maybe even Torren play in the vfl for a year or more to develop. I would like to see how they would go with exposure to afl ( or more exposure) but you can’t argue with the outcome of the Cats approach.

I felt Will White was the third most impressive ruck on the team in our recent U16s matches, and it seems he was an overager there. I'm not saying he's a bad player, or that he doesn't deserve his place in this team, just that the 2026 class of talls in Queensland is clearly below the 2027 one.

Caylen Murray showing some nice signs for the Allies. Reminds me a little of Fletcher the way he moves.
Can never have enough Fletchers.

Poor effort by the Lions U16 academy, after leading the Swans academy 72 v 15 at three quarter time, we let them back in the game in the 4th quarter. (what’s the not so serious gif?)

I remember being really disappointed when Carlton scored after being 60:0 ... would have really enjoyed them not scoring at all!

I watched the replay recently and was gutted that Carlton scored before HT. In my mind I'd had it as 60-0 at half time. That felt way more enjoyable.
