A versatile player equally at home at either end of the football field, Allison cites long kicking and marking as two strong points of his game.
He said one of his favourite players is Collingwood Magpies star Scott Pendlebury.
“My coaches say I play like him so I’d like to be like him more,” Allison said.
“I like to run with the ball, take a couple of bounces, and taking a couple of good marks every game makes me happy.
“I played full forward for my club last year and kicked the most goals, so I was pretty happy with that, but I like to play anywhere.
“Wherever the coach puts me, that’s where I’ll play.”

I noted neither Scheer or Allison were in the game and Buzza was absent as well. I would have all three in my best 22. I think they are probably just rotating the squad atm and seeing who stands up prior to naming the Champs side.

12 ineffective kicks in that 28. Maybe if a few of those were true clangers might be the reason for not being in the bests

That is true, but when you get that much footy, especially in the middle, its not like every one of them is going to be accurate. And in total 27/42 were effective which is a going rate of like 68-70%. Maybe discipline reasons? Who knows

Yeah no idea I was just trying to find an excuse in there. Maybe there were a few clangers and a lot of the other touches were a little Swan or Stanton like (ie lot of 1-2's or other touches that didnt really hurt the opposition).

Either way I'm happy if not getting in bests keeps him down the bidding order so we can get him second round or later

Needs to settle down a tad me thinks...perhaps a spell in the back pocket o_O
I'd rather if he is any good to actually just show it.He's ours if we want him.

Who picks the best at TAC Cup level anyway; commentators?

You blokes amaze me you make all these big predictions yet a lot of you haven't even been to watch any games this year as yet

We've got a few on this board who get down to watch TAC Cup games regularly(Myself included).

You must be having a pretty boring day to come on to an opposition teams board to troll about things that are pretty irrelevant to most other football fan bar Brisbane ones...

But please, give me your thoughts on this matter.

I'm just saying some guys making big predictions without seeing how some of these boys are playing and relying on stats,I've been to nearly every game and reckon Keays and Wagner going terrific but Hipwood is not showing much at all

What are your thoughs on where are Academy boys are rated? Should they be higher, lower...
Brisbane aren't going to use early picks on any Academy boys when they need at least 1 mature big forward and 1 back so it will be what's left after trade period

Some people are unable to go to every games due to family and work commitments. There's people who watch the games and make comments on players, you've got the guys on the Drafts and Trading board as well as some who only comment on club boards and even the guys at afl.com.au but those comments create a general consensus on forums. So they are not relying purely on stats, they go off comments and thoughts off what other people say too and little snippets that get posted on forums like this. All the 'BigFooty' and Media draft experts do too. No one can see every single game in every state.

Hardly worth having a crack at anyone.

I don't rate Hipwood all that highly myself but there's no doubting he, like many others has potential to develop into a handy player at the next level with the qualities that he does possess.

And it amazes me how types like you think you know us. How the bloody hell would you know how many of us go to TAC cup matches? I go to quite a few down here in Melb other commitments permitting (including practice games and season proper over the last three seasons) but don't go around publicising it. Apart from trying to get a rise out of us, is there a point to your post?

I have to admit, I haven't even made the slugh test attempt to get my head around the new bidding rules.

What disincentive in the new bidding system is there to stop clubs putting in bullshit bids to make us pay overs.

Let's just say we have pick 1 and 20. Every club rates Keays around 12-13. What stops a club bidding pick 5 knowing we are committed to him, just to weaken us?

Would be the threat of us declining to match the value, with them being forced to take him at pick 5 I would assume. Just read the system in detail, seems to make sense.. Much fairer then just using your next available pick!

Can't believe 2 of the best prospects this year are swans and giants academy players!

The disincentive would be them having to use pick 5 if we passed, and we should in that scenario.

But in that scenario, trades aside, do we still lose Keays to any club willing to take him at 19 or below?
Not really at some point we would value him higher than what we would normally get at 20 so would be happy to pay it
