Gubby post.
Assuming you meant 'grubby' post, how so? For giving an inbiased and informed opinion?

TLL has far more runs on the board in terms of local footy knowledge than most who post on this forum.

Would back his assessment any day.

Urban dictionary informs me it means sulky, or thereabouts.

Pretty funny accusation to come from tigernova, if ya think about it...

I smell the beginnings of the silly season.

There is certainly a buzz* in the air.

Means we'll need 1,859 points to match. We currently have picks 21, 38 and 57 (not taking into account future compensation) leaving 353 points which is equivalent to pick 44.
That seems pretty achievable considering Aish will net us a pick of sorts (whether that be a pick in the teens or a player + second rounder package). Using the equivalent of four selections is a worry though. Makes the compensation for (potentially) losing Leuenberger important

Buzza and Wagner both named in the best for their sides, I see.

Wagner had 22D, 3M, 3T, 1CL and 3 I50

Buzza with 14D and 16HO, 4M and a behind

Keays with 27D, 7M, 4T, 9CL and 2I50

9 clearances for Keays was 4 better than second place for Redlands (which was their ruckman)

Admittedly at level down in the QAFL, Reuben William played a great game for Wilston Grange seniors in their win over Mt Gravatt.

I reckon Reuben's got plenty to work with, plays with real intent and aggression.

It will be a shame if he gets taken by someone else in the ND due to the Academy restrictions, hopefully he'll be available to us as a rookie at least.

If allowing for 3 pick for free agent compo & GWS matching 2 early bids on academy players, the second round may not start until pick 23. this is likely to cost us a good handful of draft points.

We'll probably get an end of first rounder for Leuey and a second round pick for Aish. We'll have the picks to get them all.

Promising effort from one of our U16 Academy boys. Anyone seen him play?
http://www.aflq.com.au/round-17-qafl-rising-star-lliam-molan/

Yep, Lliam (Buster) Molan is from my club, so I've seen him play a few games in the seniors this year.

Buster's tall and mobile with good skills, I think he's a chance of making it into the AFL but a little too early to tell, next year's performances in the Under 18 system should be instructive.

Interestingly, Buster is from Padua College in Brisbane, as is Jacob Allison and Harris Andrews, quite a production line forming there....

I wonder how many kids from that area have made their way into the AFL BEFORE the Academy...
That's a very good point, Beng, I think the answer is "not many, if any".

It's impossible to be certain, but it seems to me that under the old system, pre-Academy, late developers/smokeys like Andrews and Reuben William would have had little chance of being drafted.
