He wouldn't be able to play as a KFP or KPD? We already have young ruckmen.Richardson will be a Mumford type build in the next 18 months.
He is not really anything but a big ruckman.
Just a big unit.
not sure what kid Thommo is talking about. Richardson does have a face like Mumford, but thats where the similarities end.
He is much leaner and I doubt he holds any sausage eating records.
here he is here #19. He is only 194cm and hardly destined for the ruck in the AFL unless he keeps growing, which he may well do given he is a Decembr 05 baby (thats McDonald #23 and Zane LittleJohn also in the picture)

I watched L1 games last year. Hodge is handy, but not a standout. Obviously has good pedigree etc, and very early to judge kids - he is already in academy, and no doubt will get every opportunity to prove himself, but will also earn it, not because of his surname.
Certainly in the L1 team he was in last year, he wasn't in the best half dozen, and the South team he was in slaughtered everyone else.
Edit: pretty sure he also has 4 younger brothers, so there is bound to be another 300 gamer in there somewhere!
Cooper Hodge is 15 this year.My grandson goes to St Laurences and they had trials on the weekend, Cooper Hodge will be playing in the grade 10 1st team, grandson is pretty sure Cooper is in year 8.
My son went and watched the trials and said Cooper was a clear standout, pretty fair effort against boys 2 years his senior.
He also heard that the Hodge's have sold up everything in Melbourne and Brisbane is now the families long term home, sign the boys up to the academy now. It would be so delicious if we trumped the Hawks father/son possibilities.
Gold Coast announced their level 3 squad today.Wonder how that will work?
Lions L3 is overloaded with over age players, which makes very little sense. Wonder if there is a limit on overagers in Allies and L3 academy team?
Collins, Cooper, Cosmo, Holier, Hude & Manly have all been retained as 19 year olds. Do they not rate the next crop or something?
Thanks for the info, must be year 9 then.Cooper Hodge is 15 this year.
The Hodge boys were discussed recently on the Hawks board, with quite a few Hawks posters already resigned to losing the boys to the Lions through our academy, should they be draftable.

As far as I’m aware, they don’t keep any overage 19 year olds in their academy.
Looking through their list, I’m sure they have a heap of 17 and 16 year olds, in their level 3 squad.
They have their two kids who were named in last years U15 AA team in the squad.
Quite a few father sons to other clubs in that squad as well.
Edit: there are a few (7) overage boys in GC’s level 3 squad.
Thanks for the insight Thommo 42.There were 6 QLD lads in the u15 AA squad.
Only one of the lions boys is in the L3 squad, and is still L2 eligible. Daniel Annabel - he's a v good player.
The other 3 lions who made AA u15s are in the L2 squad, but while it's a good achievement I wouldn't put much stick in school footy stuff, there are kids that didn't even make the QLD u15 side who are better players than guys that made the AA team. Raph Geesu and Jack Slater as good examples of that.
Another lad Jaydon Macaulay never made a state schoolboy side, but was picked in all the L3 lions games last year when still L2 eligible.
Geez don't sell Hodgey short, just because he can't match up to you.Yes, he's a few months older than my young fella. They are the youngest 2 lads in the L2 program. Though one has better genetics!

Do you know if there is a list of the Lions level 3 squad, that I could post here?
It’s sort of frustrating that our club doesn’t provide any information about the academy for members interested, but will email members asking for donations every year.

Harrison Bridge got a random mention from a SA based guy I know as someone who he was impressed with.
Any thoughts on him?
