Maybe Woosha see's something we don't know about? Maybe Woosha see's traits in Adam that are not obvious, or maybe due to his medium height he is neither a tall forward nor a small one, so doesn't really fit the profile of a modern-day forward.
Remember, Jakovich was originaly drafted as a CHF, but MM played him at CHB and the rest is history.

I don't know, there has to be a reason. In Woosha I trust ;)

I didnt know that Glen Jakovich was drafted as a CHF!!!!!! WOW..Mick certainly knew his footy then..to pick a young kid who plays CHF and turn him into the best CHB around is a legendary story!

My sentiments exactly. Although it is probably just to try and develope the defencive side of his game which imo is probably the only thing which is holding him back. I think his development is comming along quite nicely considering the fact that he has overcome a serious knee injury at such a young age. Seeing his leep for mark (which he put down) down in the back line shows that he still has the ability to take the specky 'Modra-esque' mark that he was described as when recruited to the club.

Did we need him up forward?

Willow was in great form, while Siera, Gas and Embly were good targets across CHF.

Someone needed to play on Dixon to release Collica onto Chick. I would have preferred Glass, but Hunter did the job.

Toddy still coaching Swan Districts? Can't see him going out of his way to accommodate West Coast.

Im not sure what Whoosh is doing or whether Hunter is better forward or back, right now to be honest i dont really care. He seems to play alright wherever he plays and could be a utility in the future like Williams. Williams is primarily a forward but he can plug holes in defence and also run through the midfield. Maybe this is what Whoosha has planned?

Anyway i agree with D4E's...In Whoosha I Trust!

Ditto. Worsfold has made some interesting decisions since he got to the club- the decision to keep Willow over Cummings, the decision to draft Judd ahead of Polak, and to abolish the vice captaincy.
The results? In 9 rounds we've won as may games as we did in all of last year, we give a committed contest every week, and the team is playing exciting, yet accountable football which is entertaining to watch. Every week I'm counting down the days till I get to see them in action, whereas last year (for the first time ever), it got to the point where I really did not want to watch us play, we were so bad. Basically, Worsfold has proven himself to be a very shrewd strategist and an ace motivator. As a fan, I'm happy. And as such, In Woosha I Trust!!

IMO Hunter requires as much game time as possible.
Our defence is not terrific, and the cornerstones in Milli and Jako are in the twilight of their careers, and really none of the other 4 of the back six have cemented spots. Ideally, Morrison and Read would be in defence if they were fit. Prior is making a comeback from injury.
In the not too distant future we will have holes at FB and CHB...maybe as early as next season.
Youngsters like Hunter are showing they can play up forward and down back, but is he a key position player? -too small for that I think, most FF and CHF are much taller these days. Glass has obviously something to prove before we see him back in the team, but he needs to be there and given more responsibility.
Of the remaining defenders....Harding -will be delisted at years end, Carroll - no idea what his future is? Who else is there - Gaspar?

The best performed teams have a stable, experienced back 6 - at the moment, apart from FB and CHB we do not. It is the one area where some serious effort will be required in the next 2 years.

Our defence is not terrific,

IMO....Sunday, after the first quarter, almost every time the ball went into the Hawthorn Forwwrd 50 it came flying out almost as fast as it went in. I think our defense is great and is only going to get better.

I don't know that I can agree with our defence being great - yet. Statistically our defence is one of the leakiest in the league (only StKilda and Carlton have conceded more this year). Fortunately only Brisbane have a better attack at this stage of the year. A bit of this can probably be attributed to the fact the only match we have played in bad conditions was the Richmond match, but still...

In the case of the Hawthorm match, we were mostly very good at getting the ball away, but the half time scoreline of 8.0 indicates that we still let Hawthorn have too many easy shots on goal. There's probably only a little bit to do to fix this (if I knew what it was I'd be an AFL coach :) ); we need to be at our best to make the most of the upcoming weeks.

In reply to mentalgrind comments he has been at the club for 3 years now and he is not getting any better at all and he didnt have a serious knee injury it was a 4 week injury which is very minor for a knee injury. Also you were saying that he flew for a mark in the backline. Why was he flying for the mark when he is playing in the backline. He should have fisted it and as a result it cost a goal. This is his 3rd year and he is just not progressing at all.His tackling is poor,he doesnt know how to tackle anybody with any ferocity.I think unless he shows dramatic improvement the rest of this season,he should be delisted. He just hasnt got the ability to play at this level.:)

I respect your opinion mate.

I was under the impression that he had undergone a knee reco but if I am wrong I will happily stand corrected. I agree that the attempted mark in the backline was not the right option but the point I was trying to make was that it was good to see the big leep the club has been saying he posesses. As I said the defencive side of his play is sometimes found lacking (ie. tackling, protecting the ball carrier) but this has been on the improve IMO, in his game against Hawthorn he laid 4 effective tackles (second to Jones who laid 6 and on par with Banfield, Fletcher and Wooden).

You maybe able to help us out as you stated in your first post that you played with him down here in Bunbury. Do you Know if he ever played down back or (as we've been told) only played FF, which traditionaly aren't great tacklers anyhow.

Anyway, it's great to see you back on (I thought we may have frightend you off) and i'd personaly like to more Bunbury people (I'm presuming your from Bunbury) on these boards.

P.s. also took note of the little smiley face at the end, made it all warm, friendly and all. ;)

In reply to mentalgrind Adam Hunter played all juniors as a ruckman as he was tall for his age at that stage but when he played colts and league (in the swfl) he played as a full forward. He only started playing in defence when he got to swan districts.

But even at Swan Districts they keep throwing him around. When I say that, its not because he's not good enough, but because they really need two of him, one for FF and one for FB. Pretty hard to get used to playing in one position if you're thrown all over the place. Whilst he may be tall for the WAFL, he isn't that tall at AFL level. The best he will ever be is the utility player, playing as the 2nd or 3rd tall forward or the 3rd or 4th tall defender at AFL level.
