Wanting to know peoples thoughts.

I really think he deserves another shot at it.
Has had another great year in the VFL and
showed that form in the Grand Final. He's a hard
at it player, with good skills, leadership and experience.

I think there's a bit of upside to this guy.

Could he offer something to the Team?

Is there a spot on the rookie list for him?

Personally, I think if we don't there are other teams
willing to give him another crack at it.

Thoughts?

He will be 25 in Jan 2011.

Played 4 AFL games for C'Wood in 2005.

Was delisted because of (apparent) inconsistency.

Has now played over 100 VFL games.

I know some may say that the guy has had
a shot at it - wasn't good enough - move on.

Fair call.

But, from the outside, it looks as though
he has really worked on his game and
still has the desire to play but just needs
the oppurtunuty.

Couldn't have done much more in 4 years
of VFL footy to show he wants it.

Has a ready made body, is hungry has
good skills. Could be a good midfielder.

Worth a shot?

Hey guys not knowing much about htis guy but would Luke blackwell be ahead of hin in chances of getting drafted before him?

Not too sure. I saw 3 claremont games this year and my impressions were...

Not damaging enough with his disposal/cant kick accurately over 35.
Weak tackler.
Poor overhead.
Not suited to inside roles ie short, light, slow take off/leg speed.

I've heard he came second in the Sandover, which surprises me but he does very much seem to be like one of the short blokes in the TAC/VFL/etc. Can tear it up there but will really struggle at AFL level.

Iacobucci will spend part of the preseason with Carlton again but I can't see him getting picked up.

Agree with the posts here. Very good VFL player but I do not think he has the weapons required to be an AFL regular. I think we are actually reaching a point with our list where it is quite strong and could not see him having an impact. I think there is more upside to Ellard and in reality it took him the best part of the year to get a game at AFL level despite dominating at VFL.

If we were to look at Bullants players I would be considering Arrowsmith or Thomas.

not much point in giving him a rookie spot if when we already have Ellard, Armfield and potentially Davies (with his already stocky build) in our team with similar attributes to Iacobucci.

who would you guys rather, iacobucci or johsnon?

I reckon he will get picked up this year definately, do not be surprised when he does.......ill be bleeding if another team gives him a crack and not us

Arrowsmith could offer something.

These are the players I believe Iacobucci could get a game in
front of who are currently getting a game at Carlton:

• Johnson
• Hadley
• McClean
• Yarran
• Davies
• Joseph

Players who would be on par; Carazzo, Ellard, Scotland, Robinson.

LOL.

Davies has started OK. Problem is what is he?
He's not a key back.
He's not a quaterback style.
His kind of in between.
His disposal in only OK.
He needs something to hang his hat on.
Something no one else gives us.
He is a slight downgrade on S.White.

What he is is a first year medium defender who managed to crack a spot in the seniors and keep it for the finals. That's a great effort. He's also three years younger than Simon White.

You cannot be serious (insert photo of John McEnroe smashing a racket).

Iacobucci is a good VFL player & nothing more.

So happy we stuck with Ellard
I think the capt has missed his opp but saying that seeing how the draft is crazy would be happy to give him a go
Ellard & Blackwell are examples of blokes who when given a go get the job done
Maye Iob may do the same

The guy that impressed me was Ahmed Saad. He's really lively around the ball and his disposal and decision making seem pretty sound. I loved his hanger and goal during the semi final in the Port Melbourne quagmire.
