Unless its pick 1 theres no way we would trade Tomlinson.Even then we still probably wouldnt.Its got nothing to do with Tomlinsons value.Hes not necessarily even in our best 22.Its about players seeing out there contract.The only reasons clubs view our contracted youngsters as gettable is because of the Boyd situation last year.That was a different set of one off circumstances.
Feel the club is making a stand.This has been covered ad nauseum by other Giants posters. Saving them the hassle this time

Richmond should be looking to package Tomlinson and Townsend. give them pick 31 and orchestrate another second rd pick to give to them. conca can be used.
tomlinson replaces astbuty who goes to bris for pick 21 (and the other pick swaps).
21 to yarran.
we need KP defensive cover if astbury leaves as there is only Rance, Chaplin who is in decline FAST, and a 2 gamer Elton. not much cover there at all.
Key Def (swingman fwd), inside mid (hopefully), and a speedy x factorish run and carry player.

dont know if hes worth a first rd pick. is not a constant in your best 22. not for sale but seems he could possibly be prized away as a few GWS kids have already been...
i was balancing 2 first rd picks against tomlinson (okay say 1st rd) and townsend (3-4th rd). 2 second rd picks sort of balances it out if you spread it across the two...more than fair i would have thought!
