It's round one, so there isn't much to say. But I just wanted to open this thread so that we can reflect on the games he does end up tagging in.

It's only half time tonight but I feel like he has done a good job at limiting Beams' effectiveness (not total possessions) whilst still doing some good stuff.

I think he has more upside than Caff long term.

I don't think he's actually playing as a true tagger. More just Beams direct match-up. When Beams has the ball the pressure is all over him but when the ball is there to be one Adams is all over it. I'd much rather this than Maccaffer tagging.

Not sure about his tagging but he played very well. Mainly because he didn't kick much (only kicked in contest areas not on the outside). Its good to see him play to his strengths not his weaknesses.

Just a one v one game, definitley not a tagging role and only somewhat a run with role

Good game for sure, he just happens to have a defensive aspect to his midfield game. Nice to see.

So a Run With Player?

Adams showed he has a Good Defensive side to his game

He was outstanding. Still needs to work on the kicking. But the wasn't the worse kick tonight. There was lots of fumbling.

I've said it since we got him: he is a future captain of this club. Played a ripper tonight and is starting to show why he was a number 12? pick.

13 actually, but let's not quibble.

And yes, terrific game from him last night.

I didn't get to see the game, only saw highlights... but going by his stats (equal highest possession getter) suggests that he wasn't playing as a "tagger" more as a tough contested player who will defend his man well but also get plenty of the ball and keep his opponent honest... which is I type of role I would love to see him keep playing.

He is a little champion love the heart and will captain the Pies one day

Won't become a tagger but will do some run with roles when needed on players who don't run both ways like Beams

There is no way he becomes our tagger it would be a waste of talent. Maybe he can do a run with role but that's it.

loved Adams game tonight! He certainly helped nullify Beams effectiveness and influence in the match. I'm sure I remember the commentators saying at one stage that Beams had a negative metres gained.

What I love most about Adams is he is just hard at it and really gives me the impression he puts everything on the line. He plays for the jumper and his spot in the team. He bleeds black & white!

He was easily one of our best players tonight.
Played a better game than Beams.
He actually stood up near the end.
Goes for the ball like a raging bull.
Will only get better with more games under his belt.

Tagger....not so sure but the way he played and made Beams accountable was very good. Also as a team we made him handball more and go sideways and backwards to really limited effect was pleasing.

Just let the young bull run amok, crashing, smashing and bashing his way through opposition midfields.

Really like this boy, shows the right amount of aggression. With him and young Grundy (love this man, I hope we offer him a 5 year extension soon) we have found our strong men. By the time they 23-24 theyll be opposition players will be just that extra bit fearful when their in their vicinity.

Played the role I expected Levi Greenwood to play. Wonder how were going to fit him in the team now.

He did not try any Fancy Kicks and Played Within himself
