I see that Cricket Australia is selling groups of tickets (10 or more) for the Ashes Tests next summer. Whatever is left over post this sale goes on sale to the public in May. I'm keen to purchase 3 tickets for days 1 & 2 so if I'm able to jump in with others who are/have purchased then great, otherwise I'm happy to purchase and divvy them out at obviously cost price to those keen. $70 per day.

Do you need a general admission ticket to stand in the hill area? Happy to do so for day 1 but day 2 I'll be really hungover and like the option of sitting quietly in a seat drinking chocolate milk.

General admission was "unable to find" or some such on day 1 so bought a reserved seat for the same price. Hope I can walk into the hill anyway. Bought an expensive seat for my hangover on day 2. Got cheap seats for days 3 & 4.

Was wondering about that. They have the same lame-o policy at the MCG. Concealed spirits it is...
The wherewithal to pony up $350 odd qualifies you as mature enough to handle drinking full strength.

One year - 2012 - I completely forgot about the midstrengh bullshit. Even worse my mate and the couple pals he brought along weren't drinking at all and made "aggressive drunk" jokes all day which is oh so hilarious when you're struggling to get even a mild buzz going.

Good luck getting pissed on mid strength, what a ridiculous rule.

Mate I've done it at the cricket on light.

I'm not David Boon but I have no trouble holding my piss - a carton of full strength isn't an irregularity prior to a current booze ban - and I've downed enough 2.5 per cent schooners to stagger home from an ODI in a stupor.

Got tickets to day one in Sydney.

Basically 8 of us were trying to get 2 days, as cheap as possible. Ended up having 4 tickets in the cheap seats, another 4 in the silver section so I imagine there will be some swapping at drinks in the middle session.
On day two we've just decided to get stinking in Kings Cross.

I could only get Boxing Day GA tickets, and that was with ACB prior access.

It was able to get better seats once they went on sale to the public, I was in the same boat, prior access It gave me a choice of platinum or bronze seating. Log in yesterday got silver no problem.
