In no way does this say that.

Some journos went to town on collective minds after the camp, and collective minds have had a win in the courts

the crows organisation has not been cleared in any way, and the fact that players walked out, and the crows have moved staff on says that you are wrong.
If CM did no wrong, players walking out says its closer to the fact they were being sooks than anything massively wrong happened...

They have not had a win in the courts. They (allegedly) got their costs paid, retraction and apologies by way of settlement.

They may have done some wrong but there were some pretty crazy things being said in the media - and at least with Caro she would have checked first.

So the players do look like they exaggerated.

Hawks 1st and 2nd years do Kokoda Track. I assume that is a little more challenging than listening to the Tigers song for 2 hours.

For the record the apology;

On 4 July 2020, an article was published in The Sunday Age and on The Age website reporting on the Adelaide Crows camp in 2018. The article made a number of statements about Amon Woulfe, Derek Leddie and Collective Mind. The Age acknowledges that SafeWork SA made no findings of wrongdoing against Collective Mind. The Age acknowledges that the camp was run in good faith and with the players’ interests front of mind. If the article was read to suggest otherwise, The Age withdraws that suggestion. The Age apologises and expresses regret if the article caused hurt and offence to Mr Woulfe, Mr Leddie and Collective Mind. The Age has withdrawn these publications.

So none of the allegations of what actually happened are deemed to be untrue, but the manner of the reporting may have hurt the feelings of Collective Mind.
A less than fulsome apology, with no damages.
The term pyrrhic victory comes to mind.

Yes, a la Christian Porter who screamed I won when nothing had actually changed.

I do kind of wonder if they decided that, given the amount of water gone under the bridge since then, the story has basically run its race. They've got as much mileage out of it as they can, it's not going to sell any more newspapers or attract any more clicks, so this is just an easier, cheaper option than fighting it through the legal system. Even if they won they wouldn't really have much to gain apart from preserving their own integrity. And, sadly, that's not something that most people / organisations value as much as their money these days. Especially in the AFL media landscape where integrity is at best optional, and more often an outright hindrance.

What a BS apology!

The Age didn’t really acknowledge that they did the wrong thing.

They lump some of the blame on the readers “If the article was read to suggest otherwise, The Age withdraws that suggestion”

They lump some of the blame on the victims “The Age apologises … if the article caused hurt and offence …”

If a politician issued an apology worded like that, The Age would have them on toast.

Did Don Pyke have beers and go on the punt with the boys at the camp
Poor buggers didn't get the chance.
Don had them tied naked to trees and forced to listen to the Tiges club song.
Haven't you been following the award winning articles by Caro and Scoop?

Words are cheap. They removed the articles. That’s all that matters. And why McLure has to hand back the award for an article he wrote that no longer exists.
