He should but obviously won’t. Not holding my breath on the Melbourne Press Club board revoking it either, seeing as it’s President is Nick (Winx) McKenzie from The Age/Nine stable.
That does pretty much mean that whatever credibility that award might have had will get dragged down along with McClure's, though. But yeah... credibility and integrity not high on the list of qualifications needed in AFL journalism.

I wasn't aware there were any qualifications required at all, other than not not rocking the boat.

Same qualifications required to run a pre-season training camp?

If Jobe Watson didn't physically have to hand back his Brownlow for being a drug cheat, I doubt a journalists will have to.

Go figure Mr People In Glass Houses! Demonising (pun intended) is a risky business.

If you check my post history I've probably mentioned Goodwin being a poor character and wrapped up in the Essendon PED program more than anyone. Not all of us are Nuffies that have to blindly defend drug cheats.

Just be aware that unproven allegations are very dangerous. Where does it say that anyone in the saga deserves to be called a cheat when nothing was proven to the letter of the WADA law. It's the 'strands in the cable'. lol

Bit nitpicky, where does it say that they don't?

I must have imagined the conviction that saw half the Essendon team banned for a year.

Ignorance of the facts is bliss I suppose. They were charged with nothing drug related. Was it bringing the game into disrepute or some such rubbish? If it was the infamous Crows camp should have suspended the whole club.

Please take it to the ASADA board - this is the thread to look on with disgust that even though the Safe Work commission found no rules were breached, it was still a shit sandwich.

WTF are you on about you moron. They were charged and banned for using a banned substance - TB4.

Not sure it's a win for the crows.

So it was run in good faith? And alienated the playing group?
Nah it was a success , so much so nearly every indigenous player from that era left, their past champions don’t feel like going back to the club and well it was that good they never did another one

Milera signed a long term deal after.

Betts left as we didn't guarantee him best 22 any more, which was proven correct call given he was in & out of the Blues.

Don't get me wrong, the camp was a shit show thanks to another Birdbrain idea... but turning it into an indigenous issue makes you as bad as Caro & Manure.

Indigenous players?

Like Davis or Milera?

The only reason Betts left was because he wasn't going to be played ahwad of a kid, and didn't want to spend time in the SANFL.

The ridiculous thing is - the Crows could have kept ANY of the players who left. The were doing a rebuild and needed to move players on. Keath and Greenwood would have stayed if they were offered the same deals that interstate clubs offered, but that would have been foolish for the Crows to do.

It's obvious now that the camp was a storm in a teacup.

They were all found guilty of breaching the AFL Anti-doping policy by using a banned substance.

What alternate universe did you just warp in from? Have Essendon recently won a final there too?

One of the nation’s most prestigious sports media awards has been stripped from an Age journalist after the newspaper was forced to issue multiple apologies in relation to a story about the Adelaide Crows’ controversial 2018 pre-season AFL training camp.

Sam McClure, author of the article that won the 2020 Quill in the sports news category, had his award “annulled” last week after the Melbourne Press Club’s board voted unanimously to rescind it.

The MPC (Melbourne Press Club) board also agreed the 2020 Quill in the sports news category would now be awarded to the category’s highly commended entrant, Herald Sun sports reporter Michael Warner, who wrote an exclusive article, “Danny’s tragic secret” about the late AFL legend Danny Frawley’s battle with a crippling disease linked to repeated head knocks.

For the next four years every time Manure goes on a show he should be introduced "and now we welcome Award Losing journalist Sam Manure"

The camp was no doubt crappy (as many pres season camps are) but how it was reported and blown out of all proportion was unbelievable.
