Does anyone have a soft spot for any opposition teams out there? if so for what reason? Any opposition players you admire because of how good they are?

In the past i've kept an eye how Freo has gone, basically cause they've always been the underdog, and liked when they've done well.
Admire Brisbane & Michael Voss cause they have been so good over the last few years. Also Glenn Archer cause he is a hard backman.

I like north melbourne cos there a struggling team like us(doggies), and i like them even more now that carey has gone. If the doggies wernt around they would be my team for sure.

Robert harvey. I will always regard him highly. When he is injury free and in ful flight, there is NO BETTER player in the comp

i hope he plays a full season with no injuries

couldnt of said it better myself :D

got a soft sport for Adelaide and the other non-vic teams (besides port)

i also like both Rob Harvey & Anthony Stevens

I like Brisbane because they finally performed well after all the hard work the AFL and the other 15 teams did to get them there, Sydney should look to them as an example....I also like the saints because they are characters and seem to have something special at that club.

I used to admire Brisbane as another "outpost" club, but am tiring of them a little bit as its hard to go for the underdog when the underdog has just won back to back flags, and the fitzroy bandwagoners can wear a little thin sometimes.

I like most interstate sides. And of the vic's Hawthorn arent bad.

I like seeing the other non-victorian sides (standfast Port!) get wins, as long as its not over us. Of the Victorian teams, if the Crows don't win the flag this year, I would like to see Geelong successful. Can't put my finger on why though. Always had respect for Fitzroy and its fans.

Lions for sure. Saints were up there but the Goddard charity has me spitting chips a little. I really admire the Hawks which is a big effort because they were so good against us in the 80's. Will take interest in the Swans and Roos also from time to time.

North Melbourne and the Doggies.

Compared to most clubs they operate on a shoestring budget and do it very well. They are proud clubs and they get the most out of what they have. They do it with a minimum of fuss, and the loyalty of their players to take pay-cuts and man the phones for membership drives is quite inspiring. There must be a special feeling around both clubs to inspire that sort of reaction from their players.

If the Pies can't do the job this year, I want to see these two teams in the GF.

Clubs:

Sydney(coz I grew up in NSW)
St. Kilda(coz there's something lovable about the way they lose)
Melbourne(coz I love their jumper - red and blue rocks!)

Players:

Robert Harvey
Michael Voss
Adem Yze
Brett Ratten
Andrew McKay
Paul Licuria
Brad Johnson

All the above are true champions in my books. Give 100% week in and week out and are genuniely nice people off the field. I would have them at the Dons anytime.

they always seem so close yet so far :p

A few i forgot to mention before :

Ricciuto - refer Archer.
Pickett - when he's on his game he's exicting to watch.
McLeod - great skill
Mark & Jason Johnson - can be a little patchy at times but hard at it and speedy.

Also will enjoy watching Nathan Brown this year - keeps getting better.
