Adobe Flash Player and Firefox

Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 has stopped working

Is anybody else having this recurring problem?

I have a problem with Flash where i can't adjust the colour or brightness of the flash video i am watching (depending on the player settings on the site), the option is always greyed out. Whereas 10.3.183 and below work as it should.

yeah they sent out a bogus update about 3-4 weeks ago.

pretty much everyone is getting it.

This fixed it for me...

Windows XP
1. Close Firefox (or Chrome).
2. Open Notepad.
3. Select File > Open and navigate to the appropriate directory:
On 32-bit Windows, C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
On 64-bit Windows, C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
4. Open mms.cfg.
5. Add "ProtectedMode=0" (without the quotes) to the last line in the file. Save and close.

Once the compatibility issue has been resolved, you will have to repeat these steps and delete this line to re-enable protected mode.

Windows Vista and Windows 7
1. Close Firefox (or Chrome).
2. Open the Windows Start menu, and search for Notepad.
3. Right-click the Notepad icon and select “Run as Administrator”.
4. In Notepad, select File > Open and navigate to the appropriate directory:
On 32-bit Windows, C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
On 64-bit Windows, C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
5. Open mms.cfg.
6. Add "ProtectedMode=0" (without the quotes) to the last line in the file. Save and close.

I love how Adobe flash player normally updates once a day (it seems), then when they actually DO have a problem, nothing happens!

Yeah I'm just about ready to move from Firefox to Chrome. How can I transfer all my Firefox stuff to Chrome?

I actually downgraded to the old Firefox (like version 4 or so) earlier in the year to test it out, found it ran much better then the current versions and I actually prefer the old look... Then I updated something and my Firefox was also updated along with it, haven't bothered to go back.

Uninstall flash 11.3
Install flash 10.3 or 11.2

Problem solved.

Try download the latest flash from softpedia, it works for me.
