Can you give a stroke a stroke?
No. A rough way to do it is duplicate (copy and paste) and increase the stroke of the bottom stroke so that the bottom one emerges from underneath the top

sorry i mean change the colour of the background
Make a rectangle and colour that. Make sure that layer is behind all the others.

does anyone know why i wouldn't be able to make the stroke of something below 1?

i'm trying to make pinstripes, and 1 is too thick, but if i make it any lower, it'll automatically change back to 1, no problems getting thicker though.

What's the unit of measurement? Is it 1 pt or 1 px? Either way you can't go below 1

If you're trying to make it thinner, you need to copy and past the object (without a stroke), recolour it so it's the same colour as the body and widen it so it appears to be wider than the original. Duplicate again but colour this the same color as the object and widen so it's just bigger than the first copy. Arange these in order of: object, body colour, second copy. That way, you can just widen to get the pinstripe as thick or thin as you like

How I did it was this.
I decided how big the stripe needs to be compared to the pin stripe.
20 times. 30 times etc.
Eg on my stripes on Hawthorn North & Collingwood jumpers 0.5 pin stripe to 10 stripe.

Open up the Transform tab. (Shift F8)
So what I did was make a rectangular box (stripe) that was 1 pixel wide.
(make a box, any size, change the w value to 1 in the Transform tab)
I then placed it with an x value of 100
Then copy and paste it behind. Ctrl-C Ctrl-B
Change the w value to 20
With that selected change the x value in the Transform box to 111.5
Go back to the first 1pt stripe and copy it and paste behind again. Ctrl-C Ctrl-B
Change the x value to 123
Select all three stripes and Group them. Ctrl-G
Select the entire group and copy and paste behind again
This time it will copy all three stripes.
Change the colour to something you can see.
Change the x value to 133.5
Copy both Groups of stripes and paste behind, change the value to 166.5
Select all 4 groups of stripes and copy and paste behind again. Change x value to 232.5
Now select only the last of the original colour you used.
Copy and Paste it behind and then change x to 287.5
Now delete all the Groups of stripes you made in the second colour.
Select all 5 of your original coloured stripes and Group them Ctrl-G
Now you have even based stripes, in one group that you can place on a jumper and widen (using w in the Transform tab)
If you've followed the instructions the pin stripe will be the same dimensions as those on footyjumpers.com , which I believe it as accurate as I can make it, allowing for templates and varying sizes of jumpers (S,M,L,XL)

keep trying mate, its taking me tonnes of attempts to get it right. Use Greater Gattsby 's thread. That is why it's there

lets just say the codym2723 template is under construction atm ;)

Yeah I tried his thread but it didn't work for me. I might try it again.

Been messing around with Ai , tinkering with a few things on it and created something as a bit of a test , 2 things the uniform is missing is the blue band on jumper and blue tops to the socks , need to work out how to add them in. I also need to find a way to rid the whole thing of the white background around the Willy badge. Much thanks to Mero for posting the link for the Standing Man model:thumbsu:.

the white box is there because you're using a normal image, not a vector.
if you had a vector you could simply remove that layer.
i doubt you'll find a vector of that logo though.

It looks like a photo of an actual badge to me.

There should be a Layer called Jumper-Sleeveless
Find that, and in that layer there will be three sections, Cuffs, Designs and Main Colour.
Click on one of the items in that Layer.
Draw a box with the Rectangle Tool in your Tools.
This will be your band.
Position it where the band went on the jumper you're making.
Once happy with the position, click on Designs and it will open up a <Clipping Path>.
In the Layers box, select the Path for the band and drag it on top of the <Clipping Path> and release.
This will put it directly underneath.
When you look at the player, he will have the band inside the confines of the border of the jumper.
Repeat for the socks.
