'Adopt A Player' - Player Appointments

Since we received plenty of interest in the nominations thread, I felt the time to start the ball rolling would be now. Gives us plenty of time to sort out everything and get it all up and running ready for the upcoming AFL & VFL seasons.

If you have nominated yourself in the the other thread to say that you're interested, that's great and appreciated, but that was only used as a measuring stick to see roughly how many people were interested.

Now to clearly define what the term 'Adopt A Player' means. It's where you are assigned one, or in some cases a couple of players, to look after for the year. Throughout the year, them posters that have put their hands up follow that player closely and post injuries, match reports, articles on them, etc.

One thing I do want to make even clearer though is we only want regular BigFooty users involved. If you are a person that logs in once every six months, then you can dismiss this concept straight off the bat. You can gladly view the threads, as that's what they're there for, but please don't put your hand up if you know within yourself that you can't carry through with regular updates on that certain player/s.

In my opinion, the most effective & simplest way of which to make concepts equal and fair, is to make it first in, best dressed. This concept is no different and I wish to run the same rule.

To assign yourself to a player, copy the following template and post it again with your details. This is just an example ;

Also, one player per user is the rule that we will use to start off proceedings. If we need more people to fill in the gaps, that's when I might let people know that you can dip in and take seconds.

I won't have first preference just because I started this concept on our board, because I know when people start things and put themselves in the box seat, nine times out of ten I get a little pissed off and I don't wish to make people feel the same way.

Aside from yourself and Merv I have more posts than any of the other posters that have so far nominated to take part (also had another account a couple of years ago - matts_girl- but changed as I no longer liked the name) so I've been here for a while.

I appreciate that it will take a lot of work though and needs to be taken seriously.
