I don't agree with this. He was talking about it in ways to not be blunt but in the interviews you could see in politic-speak that the gears of moving Dodoro out were in motion. The fact that Barham directly addressed questions regarding the shaping of Dodo's future rather than just ignoring it entirely is something that was pretty unprecedented.

A lot of the things we've seen, including the arrival of Vozzo and the subsequent "succession" of Rosa were of Barham's doing, he was just smart enough that he knew he needed to do it carefully, but surely.
I think Barham probably saw the idea to move him on or take away more control.. But I think perhaps more Dodoro lead him to believe the list was stronger than it ws until Vosso had a better look at an outside with experience

Always though Bombers comments a few years ago were interesting. People go to the club trying to help the club consumes them into the Essendon way before too long
That always fascinated me too. Seems to apply to the playing group as much as any other part of the club. Except for Zach Merrett…

It does feel like the centre of gravity has shifted lately though. Not convinced it happened on purpose but at least it happened and that’s been a catalyst for a lot of other things since then

That’s a pretty normal phenomenon when an organisation has a really strong culture backed up by internal politics and patronage. It’s just a shame it’s a shit culture that isn’t conducive to the effective running of a football club.

What is needed is enough powerful people at the top of the hierarchy to push for change and overcome the inertia from the existing power structures, and we seem to have finally reached that point

He backed him several times and not just in the media. Was not until Vozzo was in the job for a while that the tune started to change.

He backed him several times and not just in the media.

Anyone could see it was pure PR and stalling for the inevitable. What do you expect him to say? "Yeah we've been looking to phase him out"? Even addressing it at all was a sign.

It isn't just a coincidence that Dodo has been shown the door within 24 months of the new board with what was once thought of as unthinkable.

Every man and his dog could see it wasn't going to be a band-aid to pull off quickly scenario. Barham played it beautifully and gave Rosa time to settle in without the hooplah to boot.

If they've reached a settlement through Fair Work (or to avoid a Fair Work ruling) then it's safe to assume he had a legal entitlement. I think it just rubs salt into the wounds of fans who (myself included) feel like he has extracted a huge amount from the club over an outrageous period of time while being underwhelming (at best) at his job, and maintaining a such a political choke-hold on the club that multiple administrations failed in their attempts to get rid of him.
It’s laughable that he thought he was entitled to more from the club considering how long he’s been employed, how little he has achieved, and how much he’s leached off the place. Should have been too ashamed to show his face, but he’s clearly a moron so he went back for more.

Also a window into his character.
It’s telling that no one else is vaguely interested in employing him.

Yeah I said something similar recently. He's the most experienced list manager in the game (by some margin I'd imagine). If and when no other club sounds him out for a role, it will finally put paid to any argument that he was in fact good at his job and just unlucky and undone by the saga, poor development, coaching changes, bad timing or any other excuse his supporters put forward.

Still my number 1 "what could have been" players, such silky skills.

Who supports this peanut?

Whatever.
He didn’t have to back him at all or tell people behind the scenes the board was confident they had the right guy. This was before Rosa.
Then they told him he would still have a spot in the football department even after Rosa came in.
It should not have taken until mid season this year to work out he should not be in the football department at all.

This is another tick of approval for Barham and Rosa. We saved money on Stringer to get rid of dodo
At least they worked it out. The cool aid finally ran dry. Not giving any ticks as they believed the Essendon talk for too long.

Maybe they didn't believe the talk and were pointing it out earlier but were howled down by people defending him?

Everyone on this forum has seen this happen with this club.

The issue I have although I argee with most of the statement, Dodoro was told that he services were not required when that was the end of last year and he will have no part in the Mid year Draft or any drafts this year. Why was he there at the mid year draft this year. Glad he is gone and the bombers need it to move forward.

He said in that interview he was "stepping back from his current role" so he obviously thought he still had a job here. Glad they actually fired him rather than go out on his terms
