I don't know why, but I seem to have invested too much into that match. I am really upset about the end, especially after we had manfully worked our way back in the second half and reached a clearly matchwinning position. :'(
Someone's head should roll.
Inexperienced midfield got spooked really.

Ironically if Crouch plays we don't lose that game.

Schoenberg was really prominent, both positively and negatively. He is recorded as having 21 disposals, but I reckon he would have had twice as many "possessions". His big problem is getting caught after getting first hands on the ball, often by waiting too long.
He did do a few very nice things though.

It's funny because we had that same problem last year in the AFL team

Completely unable to hold it in from centre bounces.

Watched the game this morning

Fish- needs to just keep playing forward for the rest of the year, didn't need to play AFL level

Sholl - looked great at this level, worth seeing if this translates to Afl level

Cook - looking good, would like to see him dominate before he gets a game in 1s

Harry - meh, wasn't outstanding, wasn't terrible

Borlase - improves every time I see him, hopefully he keeps building. That goal 🔥

Worrell - I haven't been a big fan of his but his penetrative kick is a real weapon. Happy to see him in the 1s for hinge

Newchurch - have seen plenty of people negative about his game, ultimately he kicks 3 goals. Seems to just find a way to goals. Not sure we will be able to play him and Rachelle though.

Frampton - didn't do a lot wrong from what I've seen (currently up to the 3rd quarter). Also not amazing

EH - just not ever again please

Taylor - looks a gun, looking forward to seeing where he is at in a few weeks

Strachan - played well, never going to be an elite AFL ruck though

Agree with most of that, though Newchurch sat in the square most of the night, didn't particularly earn his goals.

Sholl was good I thought, so too Parnell and Borlase. Cooky did some nice things and I did like Worrell.

Coaches said pre game half of them have a he flu to varying degrees and they played like it.

Disagree on the bolded.

EH had a very good game. He was active, stuck most of his marks, jumped high in the ruck, was very sure with his handball, and essentially won the game for us in the last (were it not for some of our other players). His only fault was the missing of three earlier goals that should have been scored: he should have had 5.0.

I also like Taylor, but he had a pretty ineffective game and looked outsized. There is no way that you could describe him as a gun, based on only this match.

I fear that your previous prejudices, rather than your viewing of this match, have determined your comments on these two players.

Taylor looked good with ball in hand but he got beaten up around the stoppages.

That'll come.

Newchurch with a pathetic tackle attempt near the end which led to the goal that gave them momentum. He was very poor apart from seagulling in the square.

I actually said to myself at that point, if we lose, we can trace it back to that 'contest' and non-attempt to tackle

Which is harsh as we were still 7 points up then, and there are lot more contests to come, but it stuck out to me

He had 2 marks and kicked 2.3 and that's a very good game? He was non existent in the first half and he plays like a mid forward. None of the goals he kicked were from leads or strong co tested marks, were from ground balls. We dont need him to do that. Some of his ruck work was good admittedly. I'll happily stick with my never again for him. Isn't a key forward

I've also never seen Taylor play so not sure how my previous prejudices have come across? Thought he looked good, no shock that an 18 year old is pushed around a bit in the SANFL after playing in under 18 comps. Maybe gun is the wrong word. Looks promising prob more accurate

Prolly we just needed one more mature AFL body in the midfield and we would've done it. Could've done with a Berry, Pedlar, Hately type and we would've go there easy. Taylor will be good but just a bit too small. Schoenberg a lone hand. The top ups did well but not quite enough. Pretty good game.
Boyle was our best...

Look we can complain about our commentators ability to sound a bit bias against the crows. But check this out, sir charles takes it to a new level as a pundit..he sticks it right up golden state

This is how I feel about the pear

If Dwayne said this I would respect him more than his passive aggressive - ' the Crows are still a chance'' when 45 points down
