Are we a good chance for the SANFL premiership this forthcoming year?
We had a good year last year, then we lose Brown, Davis, Rowe and Turner and possibly McAsey.

We gain Michalanney, Dowling, Bond and Rankine will push a small forward out of the side, lets say Murphy, so the SANFL team will have him.
We lose little and gain a good defender (MM) and a small forward that carves up at SANFL level (Murph). Dowling and especially Bond have enough size and fitness that they should be able to have an impact straight away.

Add Magden, Tahana and Oloughlin and this is some handy talent to add to our side.

Plus another pre season on a lot of the guys that did alright last year, like Taylor, Nank, Gollant, Pedlar and Cook and Newchurch and that should be some handy improvement.

We'll have Strachany again giving us a major advantage in the ruck. Berg started to get too good for SANFL last year, so if he's not in the ones he'll give the side a good forward option. Luckily we got Magden because key backs look a bit thin. Most of the rest we can cover. We might have guys like Hamill or Sholl running around, they'll start to be too good for SANFL after 3-4 preseasons.

Hard to see us not giving it a real shake.

If we stay completely healthy, we'll give it a real shake, however if we get a couple of injuries we'll end up pretty comfortably in the bottom 4.

Small thing but:

"I could sort of see it coming (being delisted), when you’re not playing at the end of the year and you’re healthy and out of contract, you sort of know it’s a possibility,” Madgen said.

Compared to us playing people who are going to be delisted at season's end ahead of players we are keeping. Nonsensical.

I think we were the best team in 2022 but we didn't perform well in the finals(except for the 1st week) as we were missing numerous players and let's be honest our team didn't care about winning the flag as much as the SANFL sides. We can most definitely win it as we will be improved but it comes back to player availability and injuries. It also comes back to Nick's selection of whether he plays cooked seniors in the AFL or not. If he doesn't their experience may help us win a flag in the SANFL.
