Wouldn’t you want a player with known question marks over his fitness to start on the ball and then go forward once he tires? But we gotta get those minutes in to players not even on our list [emoji849]

Since when does a team listed on a Thurs night line up that way at the first bounce on a Sat?

So the mid we selected with Pick 10 is stuck playing in a forward pocket while we play two top ups on the ball 🙄
Freeman played at centre half forward (is he the new Lachie Murphy?) in the first half and Pedlar played as a mid. We rotated Hately, Schoenberg, Boyle and Pedlar through the guts. When Glenelg started to pile on the goals in the third quarter, Freeman was moved into the guts and Pedlar replaced him in attack.

Hall played mainly on the wing which was “interesting”.

Yes, it's very important to me that the team lines up exactly as they're named on a Thursday night.

I might actually watch the game before I melt on how they're handling Pedlar's development.

So adding Rowe and Thilthorpe and changing things around it looks like a pretty good team,

F: Rowe, Fogarty, Wright

HF: Newchurch, Thilthorpe, Nankervis

C: Hinge, Schoenberg, Milera

HB: Parnell, Borlase, Davis

B: Worrell, McAsey, Murray

R: Strachan, Pedlar, Freeman

INT: Lewis, Sharrad, Hall, Boyle

They didn't cost us anything as they were both rookie list and ideally if we didn't had that big list turnover after 2019 we would have kept both if not at least one of them.

We had contracts in front of them, we weren’t turning over our list end of 2019. Even sauce had a 1 year deal on offer. Only dougie was forcibly retired with Otto choosing to hang them up.

I think we were comfortable moving Keath on because we had Talia as our rock down back. Plus at that stage still had Hartigan. Didn't want two older talls during a rebuild with another older player as back up.

We assumed Talia would be there while the younger players developed around him.

Hasn't worked out so now we're shuffling through a few options

But we offered him 2 years, same as hugh and 1 less than cooked sauce. We weren’t list strategising a rebuild at end of 2019. Cut out the cancers and return to top 8 contention was the plan.

Don’t forget that we play our guys in the spot that they’d be elevated to if called up. It’s all about the now, this hasn’t changed.

If we wanted to keep him we would have upped our el cheapo offer

If we were disappointed to lose him we would have extended Hartigan in response

There’s a better than even money chance that we offered him what we thought he was worth. Were we rebuilding when we offered Lyons a fringe mid value contract?

We wrongly thought Lyons was crap

And we gave him an offer less than he'd get elsewhere, knowing that he'd move on

Hoping Milera actually puts his stamp on the game tomorrow, rather than cruising around not doing too much.

I know he’s had a long lay off, but I reckon he needs to pull the finger out.
I reckon he's been getting slowly better each week so at least there's that.

If he does well today, I'm not sure it'll be the best guide, centrals are toward the bottom of the ladder for a reason.

So what evidence are we using to arrive at a different conclusion with Keath?
Which bit?

That we undervalued Lyons? I think it's the same with Keath except we undervalued Lyons as a player and the impact Keath could have had on a rebuild.

Or that we offered him a contract under what he was worth knowing it would likely end in a trade? I think that bit is the same

I thought we only offered Keath 2 years but not Greenwood? And that's quite a big list changed of players we would have kept if we didn't do a full list rebuild end of 2019.
