I get it, he's a good player. But he was the 94th best player for points and that stings when you take him at pick 3. A better bet would have been Josh Kennedy taken at pick 8 as a tall forward.

Was the 359th best scoring player, looked good after the Grand Final but had a super shit year

Pick 19 - Danoz - Max Gawn and Pick 20 - Kristof - Jesse Hogan
Unfortunately injured

Pick 27 - 1990crow - Todd Goldstein
Ranked 178, despite playing 19 games, just looked cooked for most of the year

Pick 43 - hendo8888 - Josh Jenkins
Only 4 games out injured but was the 199th best player, taken ahead of much higher scoring players from the crows like Sam Jacobs

Pick 61 - Danoz - Justin Westhoff
I get the thinking behind this, because he's ranked high in player ratings and also played 22 games. But he ended up the 122nd best player and he makes your team look worse for the voting.

Pick 78 - billy fragos - Kurt Tippett
Yeah, terrible pick here in hindsight, played just the 9 games to end up the 351st highest scoring player

Pick 101 - Maggsy - Mark Blicavs
Taken 5 rounds too early, played a lot of games but only ended up the 227th best player

Pick 258 - roo2macca - Harry McKay
Nearly the 500th best player and played just two games, yet taken at pick 13 right in the middle of best 22 action

The game overvalues midfielders too. Not this game, AFL overall.

Every team no matter how hopeless they are or how badly they are beaten gets hundreds of disposals, a bunch of clearances and a heap of contested possessions. Has no meaning or impact but means the players rate well.

For instance, all Port players should legitimately be scoring zeroes in every match against a top 8 team. Whatever they achieved in those matches - tackles, kicks, inside 50s, 1%ers, whatever - should add up to zero under any measurement system.
