Looking at our team ranking in the stats thus far in 2010 is indicative of our total lack of form especially in so many key areas....

I can't ever remember a less competitive Crows team since our inception???

Sadly, these stats aren't a shock to the system, although it does hurt to support such a non-competitive outfit.

We've always been fortunate under Craig as the coach proper that in the past, even when we lost, we've had a fair dinkum crack at it.

Match hardened or not match hardened, these stats are an indictment of the majority of players that have pulled on the club's jumper in the last 2 weeks. They have served up nothing short of non-competitive rubbish. It's not been so much a case of not running out the match, but rather dying in the bum in the 2nd quarter of each game. Pathetic.

Sunday's game against Melbourne is a genuine test of character for our team. If we look at our team on paper, you have to say to yourself that we should shit it in. Then you remember the crap of the past 2 weeks and fear a repeat of those pathetic performances.

It's time for ALL the players to have a good look at themselves in the mirror and give us an honest performance this week - it's certainly overdue, as the stats clearly show.

If we play like we have in the past 2 weeks and Melbourne play the way they played against Collingwood we will lose. There just doesn't seem to be hunger in our team, I can't really see many guys hungry for the footy, going in hard etc. All the top teams play ferocious footy, attack every contested situation at 100%- we haven't done that, we're way too passive.

What sort of authority are pro stats anyway. They are always different from Champion Data.

For instance Champion Data has us losing the I50 stat by 1 each game some far only. Pro stats has differential of -9 across the two games.

The stats don't really matter as just watching them play the last two weeks says it all. I can't wait for their confidence in themselves as a team to surface again.

So Champion Data must be right and Pro Stats wrong???

Given our dismal performances I'll go with Pro Stats at this stage thanks!!

I would have thought Pro Stats figures pretty much back up what is blatantly obvious to most loyal Crows supporters.....

Uncontested fall-downs: 1st
Short passes that hit the ground: 2nd (thank you Richmond!)
Easy-ball stuff ups: 1st
Fumbles: 1st
Gimme goal misses: 1st
Out on the fulls: 2nd (Brad Ebert, I could kiss you)
Ineffective tackles: 1st
Running slowly: 1st
Evading tackles: 16th
1%ers: 16th

etc, etc.......

On paper we should have Sunday's game well and truly wrapped up at half time.

But then on paper we should've cruised to a comfortable win over the Swans last week.

The Swans are a good team! They almost beat St Kilda. It's just that they have always played inexplicably badly against us previously for some reason and for once they decided not to.

However, Melbourne game = Adelaide win = Springboard for rest of the season

Not surprised, either would the coaching staff, the players nor our bloody opposition.

We know we're underperforming, and a lot of the issue is effort.

Apparently we're also;

first possession : 16th
1%ers : 15th

Would like to see a stat on efficiency.

we need more dangerfields, players with complete disregard for their own safety when attacking the ball

The figures do not lie, let's face it too many of our players are lacking in every single department, words like hardness, desperation, intensity, skilful, team orientated, efficient ball movement etc. simply do not apply to the AFC any longer. Our lack of genuine pace is GLARING!!! Our tackling is PATHETIC!!!

indeed. the problem isn't that we have lost games, but we have the committed the ultimate cardinal sin, not seen since the days Robert Shaw:

we have been uncompetitive.
