i think so. all you have to do is be holding R1 down while you do a normal drop punt
Doesn't work man.

Also for the next version it would be nice to have an option to change the goal kicking HUD...

I was thinking you could have it how it is now, with the ball floating between the posts, or have an alternate option in which you would be able to take a shot quicker by aiming with the left analog stick and in the HUD the ball would float between the goals to how you position the analog stick. This would be kicking with the X button, but I guess if you can only have one option it wouldn't matter what button you use.

It would just make getting a quick snap at goal much easier and it would feel like it wasn't a fluke.

Less silly free kicks for low-impact off-the-ball bumps would be nice too.

And every screamer I take seems to be a one-hander. :p

But that would make it too easy to kick goals, you would want to have some realism where the scoreline isn't 20.1.121 would you unless it was realistic in how you got all those goals cause that is what the game should be aiming for not how simple it would be to kick a goal if you changed the HUD.

As someone new to Playstaion 2
And because I have rather large hands (i'm using a wireless conroller, found the cord one to limited.) and also I am used to Keyboard keys for Sports games I've played for last 7 years, i.e previous AFL, EA Sports games etc.
Why are the buttons for mark, kick etc and movment buttons, anlog stick, (Having to hold the L1 button and move anolog control in left hand to make a player sprint and then choose right button with right hand, takes some time getting used too) the opposite to PC keyboard versions? Why is this , does anyone know?

Anyway, I may have a solution, has anyone ever used something like the following. A keyboard for PS2?

http://www.cnet.com.au/games/hardware/0,39029706,40059700,00.htm

I ask because , as well as having a Plasma TV and also have a Dell LCD Digital multimedia monitor with composite, d-sub, s-video imputs and it is quite easy to connect sound from PS2 console through to sound card of a PC

As for the game, not played it enough as yet to make many comments but can say this, graphics really need a big improvment, I mena the grass looks like a billard table cover!
But whether this is a positive or negative, others can comment,
Game really moves along speed wise.
One critisisim is the AI players kick far too many torps!
That is whay beyond realaity, in fact I doubt in the real world, there are not many AFL players who can succesfully kick a torp!
Positive is I think game play is better than 2005, I like the options of setting up play zones, like defensive kick in etc.

Need more special comments from Brereton, but I wonder with 2007 and the TV rights going to to 7 and 10, commentators may change?

Thanks
PM

Should've copied Fifas style of kicking, with the sweet spot and anything under that isn't full distance and everything over that is a spray
Could also incorporate PES's "Accurate" kick, hold R2 when you kick for extra accuracy but sacrafise some distance.
The shot thing is one of the things I really don't like, everything else is alright but its impossible to score from general play, you just get run down so easily.

Very few people would be willing to pay $170 for a gaming keyboard..

I love Pes i love having pot shots from 25 yards and trying to curl it past the keeper, love it, a lot of my mates hate playing me because i don't try to push into the box a lot or even cross i just like a fast build up and a long shot.

I have a suggestion.

How about we bring in more detail into the game by introducing the strecther?

Pfft.

There are hundreds of features that can and should be included over a stretcher mate.

Do you need a 3D card to run this or not?

Also how do you find out if your PC has a 3D card or not?

It's not on pc, and judging by a few comments on here it may not be. I'd like to see it eventually get ported over.

I currently have a 9 game winning streak going on in my season :) The closest i've come to being beaten was against Collingwood, which happened to be the start of the winning streak. I only beat them thanks to a goal in the dying stages of the 4th quarter, since then i've torn up the opposing team by 7 goals or more :thumbsu:

How is there a 12km/h wind inside Telstra Dome?

It depends on if the roof was open or not, so if the roof was closed then it was a glitch but if it was open then it is because there is wind in the telstra dome if the roof is open.
If you don't think there is then obviously you haven't been to the Telstra Dome but I work there every week and know there is wind when its open.

Probably had my best game ever just before. Melbourne vs. Adelaide.

10 min quarters on hard.

Close all game, got 4 goals up in the last quarter, then 9 points down, before Robbo slotted a goal, 19 minutes in, they got the clearance then a couple of torps and robertson marks 40 out, 50 degree angle and rams it home after the siren for a thrilling 3 point win

Melbourne 26.7.163
Adelaide 26.4.160

Davey and Robbo kicked 7. Ken McGregor:eek: kicked 10

I just got the game today. I already give up, I just can't play. After 4 games (easy mode) I was on the bottom of the ladder with no wins and a percentage of 16%.

I kind of wish there was a proper training session where you could learn to kick, mark, tackle etc, without being in a game situation.

Whats the best way of getting the hang of this game? The computer makes clean passes to its players whereis I just kick it blindly as I can't see my players. Am I missing something?? Whats the best viewing mode or camera angle to use?

Disclaimer: I am a girl, I work full time, I probably play my PS about once a year.

I've been to Telstra Dome, I've never seen a 12 km/h a wind, I could buy a 2-3 kms an hour wind but not 12.

End Pan - Normal zoom is the best for me, can see everything, can be a bit hard linking up play sometimes with handballs from marks, but you see whats ahead. Also, play around in training mode, tells you what to do.

Fiery Hawk,

Can you tell me why the fixture for the 2006 season has repeated itself for the 2007 season, even though i am playing in career development mode?

This has really annoyed me.

And please please make the interchange more accessible in 2007.

Thankyou!

I've just simulated career mode on one of our copies and it's random. Try it for another season and see....are you talking the entire 2006 fixture or just pre-season? I swear it's random on our copies...

Accessible in what way? Automatic interchange for fatigue? Rotational setups? Just curious and more than happy to help

Sit behind the goals on the left of the tv screen at the back of the ground level and tell me there ain't a strong wind there...
