Yes that Bald player issue is there. I have Chapman in my Melbourne team and he comes back with black hair after I interchange him. Perhaps he found Guerra in the crowd and borrowed his hair peice.

Oh and Matthew Bate is up to 88 overall and counting :) My plan is to max him out in all areas ;)

One major flaw in the game is that there are never and real scraps on the ground where there are about 4-6 players on the ground fighting for the ball and then there is eventually a ball up normally. The only time there is ever a ball up is when a player is tackled shortly after gathering the ball without the ball spilling free.

Finsihed 1st season and bloody Clement retired and became a Real Estate Agent, LOL :(

Ah got a good game plan going already. Ruckman belts the crap out of towards our goals. Schammer sprints forward picks the ball up and GOAL. Works a fair bit of the time as Schammer is 99 for pace.

This game is so frustrating to play. I bought it yesterday and it has annoyed me. I am taking it back to EB games and throwing it on the counter demanding my money back.

Why can't they just make an afl game like afl99? I have it on my pc and still play it. Or even better why not stick to improving LIVE?

Relax, man. It was for me at first as well, but I instantly noticed the improvements on gameplay and just the overall feel of it.

Tips to help gameplay seem a little easier:

*Easy difficulty
*Input assist on
*Direction assist on
*Lenient umpiring
*End pan camera: normal zoom

You just need to keep playing games to get any better at it.

Live was created under a different developer in Acclaim which went down the toilet a few years ago. This game surpasses Live in so many ways that you are yet to discover.

Keep at it man.

Agree but there is still some various faults about it.

I love Dennis' one liners though. Absolute quality some of them :D

Agree with the above, i sucked using the side view, end pan is a viewpoint that still leaves me bewildered at times (hated using it in AFL '98, '99 and the later AFL games), after using it for awhile i've got the hang of it, even to the point that IF the ball changes possession and the camera swings around to the direction of the oppositions goalsquare, i can change direction as the camera swings around. Basically what i mean is that as the camera swings around, i don't lose the direction where the player i'm controlling is running to.... thus i can keep track and get an easy tackle :p

The Worst line is

Dennis - 'Derm your thoughts?
Derm - 'nothing from me Dennis
Dennis - 'Thanks Derm'

That would have to be the worst line in any game i have ever heard. What is the point of it.

If Side View could be improved so that there was a way of telling where your leads are up the field it would definately be my first choice. It'd also be great for multiplayer. I don't think End Pan is good to play with when playing against a mate.
Side view should, and most likely will have something like this for next year:

nah the worst one is Dennis saying "when he's on song, he sings a very good song!".

I mean, wtf is that?! Kills me everytime I hear it

its still a stupid game. Tried it again last night and its frustrating. I like hard games that challange me but this ones got faults. I hate how when your standing the mark it auto switches and the player tackles the man taking his kick resulting in a 50. I gave away like 10 50s in 1 qrt last night!!!

Another one is say James Hird is running takes one bounce to be tackled and the umpire calls a ball up and when i do it its a free kick against me for HTB!! WTF..i know it happens in real games but craaaazy!

Also players tripping over each other. The goal meter is annoying as i seem to try and hit the middle and when i do i don't press it long enough and it results it a chip kick straight to a free player or when i hit the goal button it just does the same!

Oh and why the hell Does Paul Chambers come on as a friggen midfielder to replace brett kirk mid way through the game when I am playing the swans? He is a slow usless ruckman not a midfielder!!!

I will keep at it but dam its also slow..i want a turbo option..i hate slow team games.

And why are the reigning premiers not the best team??????????????

FH,

could you explain what is the difference between Easy, Medium and Hard.

ie the rationale behind how things get harder.

Surely if its just players moving faster, manning up a bit more, spoiling more then the difficulty slider needs to come in 2007. Every year people complain about the difference between Meidum and Hard - the middle of these two may be better

cheers

I've never seen a computer player run and bounce the ball, even when they are in plenty of space. Major let down. Oh and sometimes they will mark the ball on the back flank, spin around and kick it back to a massive contest at CHB or even kick it back to a contest at FB!!!

You're mis-timing the mark very badly. If you tackle a player at the marking contest you've pressed mark WAAAAAAY too late. Should press it when the shrinking circle crosses the green circle. Still, a lot of people have complained about this....maybe they'll change the button config next year.

Yeah, Holding the Ball is still not what we'd like it to be...There probably should be decisions based on the time that you've had the ball i.e prior opportunity. Also you'll notice that you can run a mile and get tackled, but if the ball spills free it'll be play on. This stuffs you around if they've got a 2 to 1 situation going. It's discussed here:

Anyway, tap X as soon as you get tackled. I found it really reduces the chances of getting pinged.

Hold it longer!!! You still have to power up the shot at goal, even with the goal button.

Yeah that's apparently gonna be fixed for 07. At the moment an injured player just comes off for the first interchange player...

Same here! The ball seems to move at the right speed, but it'll take about 8-10 seconds for a player to run 50m.....Still, it probably shouldn't match actual game speed, otherwise you wouldn't have enough time to make decisions.

Coz the Saints are the GREATEST! Woooooo.....hehehe....Yeah I can see why you mightn't be happy with this....but the lists are fairly accurate....and everyone does say that St.Kilda has the best list in the comp.....Even Dennis says it in the intro to their Mission..

Haha :D

I grabbed a copy of this game and it is a huge improvement. Still quite a few bugs and some things could be better but at least they are moving in the right direction.

Quite often i will get a free kick at the centre bounce though. One of the opposition players will just smash one of my lads in the back and i get a free, it happens far too much and is annoying even though it favours me.

i find that on strict umpiring i'd get like 30-5 in my favour.i brought it back down to moderate and its like 20-5. maybe ill bring it back to linient. i bumped it up uin the first place to make it harder on me but it only makes it easier.

Lenient umpiring is gay. They get the ball and carry it for about 25 meters and then you tackle them and its a ball up

I find when it's on moderate or strict there are just too many frees paid in a game.

Lenient atleast allows the game to flow a bit more without the pathetic soft free kicks in the real matches.
