I've noticed that too (when doing a team setup vs. Hawthorn, saw that there were 2 Rougheads at Hawthorn), BUT when you actually play the game, the teams are normal again (i.e. no duplicates).

Yeah I think its a problem with updating the screen. You'll probably see that they stay in the same position on the screen as you move down a page.
i.e CHF will be the same as the Ruck Rover because when you move down it won't update.

I haven't noticed this for a while though....so it seems kinda random...

The major negatives in this game is the trades, draft ect

AND the player ratings are ****ed up; eg. Mcleod 94 V Judd 93.

I mean c'mon the best player in the whole league is ranked lower than McLeod sure McLeod is good but Judd is in a couple of leagues above him.

Another example you based the ratings on 06 yes?

Stanton: 75 V Gilham: 78.

I mean WTF? Stanton probably has one of the biggest engines in the league and is ranked lower than Gilham who prolly only played like 20 or so games in his career opposed to the player with the biggest engine in the AFL who has played 80 games.

The ratings need to be fixed I know thats why develpment points are there blah blah but still it's not up to us to fix up ratings if they are wrong. IrGurus should have the rating more spot on then that.

If i didnt love AFL so much I wouldnt buy this game by the sounds of things.

The amount of bugs is ****ing ridiculous and unprofessional and unnacceptable.

Not happy But I'll wait till I get my game to judge it...

Keep in mind you've picked 4 players out of over 700.

Do you expect them to compare EVERY player with EVERY OTHER player???

It'd be a tough job to do...and one point here or there isn't really noticeable when you play the game.

I suggest the guys at IR gurus check out the editor from Nba live series eg. 2004, you can change the ratings, thats what the player editor in this AFL should be like

argh this is killing me, i have no money for the game to buy it, does anyone know of current competitions to win it?

Inside Football Magazine. Last week's edition (the one with Harvey and Archer on the cover) has a competition where people can win one of two games.
Simply buy the magazine, fill out the coupon, and send it back.
The competition will be for another week or so, so you can get this week's mag as well, and enter then.

I fixed the ruckman thing...

when you TAG your ruckman to another player he stands by him at the bounce. Hence he is standing on the wrong side of the bounce.

lol does that mean if you set your 6 forwards to tag the oppo's six forwards, their backmen would follow you down and you could completely flood their forward line.

The only negatives are the draft/delisting, the ratings system is a good idea but until the end of the game they seem to be pretty random, also the kicking power bar is stuffed, if you go to the end of the yellow bar the kick goes about 20 metres and as soon as you go into the green area it goes about 50, needs to be a middle ground, maybe it is designated to hit a target if you get it in the middle of the green but i think that it needs to be a fixed amount if you know what i mean

overall though it is good to get an AFL sim that is actually fun to play, every other AFL game i've played about 3 games and then you have seen it all, or are able to dominate easily, last years game i basically simmed every game to do the trading and draft, this year i want to play every game. A sensational effort FH, apart from a complete overhaul of the drafting/trading there are only a few minor things wrong with the game

can someone explain the editor for me?
you cant create yourself?
can you change faces , abilities etc. ?
team names?
What is the editor?

You can edit everything but the abilities basically and can make changes mid-season.

You can edit weight, height and yes faces (select from a massive 8 or so) and hair etc.

Can't edit anything about teams, only players.

Can't make new players though you can completely change a player to match you except for their attributes.

Good effort for IR Gurus to add the edit feature, although the PS2 is capable of so much more. Pro Evolution Soccer games offer about 500 custom faces, several hundred hairstyles, aswell as a face editor function. This was first seen back in 2001, and we're now in 2007 and yet the latest AFL game can only handle 8 custom faces.

I've noticed something strange. My players will automatically tag other players. I was playing Essendon last night and noticed that a few of my midfielders were missing from the centre bounce. Later on when I went to tag someone, I noticed that two of my midfielders were tagging two Essendon forwards, even though I never told them to. Is this a bug, or is it some sort of automatic function?

Gameplay is very good this year the only problems are too much smothering and you would need to work on the holding the ball rule. As for everything else the guernseys were a nice addition but the career mode needs to be worked on heavily for future games, I didnt really see a change from 2005 to 2007 (I never played 2006 career mode). Other things that could be worked on are stuff like create a team and create a player etc etc. But overall I rate this game a 7.5/10

What camera angle do you guys use? I use high end pan with a close zoom. The side view does look better but I just can't see the players. However, it is hard to see the players even with the end pan considering my TV is tiny and the graphics are shite.

As far as gameplan goes, how about adding sliders for future versions, that way users can adjust sliders and have it set to what they want.

Just a question, as I haven't played a season yet, just tested it out so far, but when you edit, in season mode, does it stay like that for the whole career?

Yes.

Oh, and how do you give out development points AND how many do you get after wins, losses etc?
You give Dev. Points in the Training Setup menu, go to the player you want to develop then the attribute you want to add to.

As for the amount of points you can look that up in the Booklet that came with the game.

Has anyone noticed one thing that's annoying about the 07 game

Nearly all the time you've got the ball and looking around for someone to kick it to, their is never anyone in space or on his own.

Every player is on every player. It isn't like real life. I mean if your 8 points up with 22 minutes gone on the clock you wanna just chip it around. and play it safe. It looks as if it is something that has been done on purpose so you can't rack up a few cheap touches across half-back.

has anyone noticed that. I mean I know it's good not to have teams chipping the whole game but nearly %100 of the time you have to kick to a contest.

And has anyone noticed that the game seems to encourage more handballing?. I seem to be hand-passing more than kicking just cos it's quicker and doesn't get smothered all the time.

I like most things about the new 07 game, but it's still those little things!!!

But seriously does anyone else have the problem of not being able to find a free man during the game?

You take a mark.... look around and nearly every guy is being followed.

But when you watch a game of AFL live at the ground, you can always see guys doing stuff like running off the bench and getting a cheap touch or a guy all on his own in the defensive 50. It's good in a way that you can't chip it around all the time.

But it's a real pain in the ass when every guy on the ground is manned up all the time. No matter what tactic. And flooding your defensive 50, is stupid cos the Computer gets it down their that quick. you can't set up a defense. :(
