I don't think disposal quality/efficiency has ever been lower valued in the game. Everyone just ******* hack kicks it forward, handballs that miss from 5 meters away. Probably all started with Richmond's "chaos ball" crap. But it ain't good to watch and it shows in goal kicking accuracy as well I reckon.

I reckon it's the other way round. Most modern AFL footballers are elite athletes/runners first and foremost. With the personnel Richmond had they adopted that game style, and other teams have somewhat adapted it because this is what is available. Collingwood play a bit like that too because they are undersized upfront but they have silky users in midfield as a bonus
